God preserved the dead sea scrolls as a welcome home present for the j ish people that verified their bible and the christian reading on passages like psalm 22:16 which is only a minority masoretic reading and normally not published in their bible, an interesting detail that should make a habrew go "hmmmmm.."

God is verifying the King James bible aswell with that find. Its not God saying we need to speak aramaic and greek, but gave the j ish people a confirmation of the bible, and it gives some light on their history and prechristian groups that are also very favorable for us christians.

To me the Dead Sea Scrolls were an exercise in frustration. Potty-mouthed, smary, anti-Christ academics, greedy antiquities dealers, and an ill defined mess of politicians, and fallen church leaders. Little bits and pieces being released in dribs and drabs over many years under the catch-all excuse that only a 'perfect' translation is good enough.

I view this positively, the entire scroll of Isaiah was for example found and the psalm 22 passage for example, noone can argue christians have tampered with these texts, they DID try that one before we had the dead sea scrolls but now there is no excuse.

The name "Jesus" is GREEK. It is a name that Yeshua might very well have never even HEARD during His time on Earth.

The disciples certainly didn't call Yeshua by a Greek version of His name.

Yeshua was Hebrew. "Jesus" is NOT a Hebrew name.

Moses was not able to deliver the Israelites into the promised land because of his sin. However... Joshua WAS able to deliver the people into the promised land.

Joshua was a "type of Christ", and a microcosm of what Christ would later do on a worldwide scale.

The name Joshua is the English version of the Hebrew name "Yeshua".

And as you may (or probably don't) know, there are MANY errors of translation in the King James Bible.

The King James Bible, although one of the BEST, is still not "perfect". There are over 2,300 KNOWN mistranslations and errors in the KJV.

The new testament was originally written in greek because that was like english is today and the universal language spoken across the ancient world because of alexander the great. The septuagint was a greek translation of the old testament confirmed by Christ that was translated a few centuries before that went along with the new testament.
