Quoting: Lost Pottawatomi I grew up by US30 Dragstrip, guys were gearheads by default. Strip cars cruised up and down on Broadway, nearby, cruisin in their war paint, toothpaste numbers on the windshield. I went downhill skiing once. Yeah fun. Much moguls. Whoop whoop. Is this all there is to whee? I Really DID have a good time, but nothing like getting a 383 to sing and screech the sure grip rear end hitting second gear @ 5700 rpm just before valve float. Was a hole shot ace....no be...Detroit dragway.... motorcity drag way....WoodwarAve... lol.... |

Had a state inspected, street legal Chevelle with heavily modified 427, nitrous and #9 Compound Firestone slicks matched to 12 bolt posi running 4.88 gears. Car was unbeatable on the street racing scene. Looking back, lucky I made it through those years alive, but for pure adrenaline, not much like it. |
