I went out this afternoon for normal stuff. Not crowded. I didn't really see people looking at the sale stuff, just doing normal shopping.

Only thing I'm bothered by is this is supposed to be our busy time of year for our small business and it's not happening. People just aren't buying stuff.

Absolutely ! With the high cost of groceries and gas, that took a big bite out of my budget.

They were smart enough this year to just put stuff on sale last week. There is just no reason anymore to chase down an item to save 20 bucks on it. Wait until Monday and they will reduce things ever further. I'm not even going to buy anything until February. A sweater I want was 120 a few days ago. Now it's down to 70. Next week it will go down to 40 bucks.

It used to be a day to just enjoy going out with family and shopping and being among other people. That's what its really about. They turned it into a war for material objects.

I finished my Christmas shopping in August. I start right after Christmas to do next years shopping, and buy a little at a time. I have never done the black Friday hysteria, and never will.
