The idea here is that one can download a 357 below what would reliably cycle a slide on a semi auto. Fiddling with velocities always means that one has to compensate with the sights as point of impact changes from point of aim. Hunting squirrels and other small game don’t want to ruin too much meat so lower velocities.

Agreed if had to would use 38 special solids and aim for the head. Haven’t hunted squirrels in awhile and never with a handgun.
