Will use two duvets if I need too. Got a bit fat this year so I suppose the extra meat on me is keeping me warmer also.

55 in the house this morning whilst I worked at the computer for 5 hours.
To stave off the cold so my body didn’t reach the stage of shaking uncontrollably , I needed to wear today: fleece bottoms, thermal socks and slippers, one thermal undershirt, one long sleeve thin wool jumper, one thick wool vest and a floor length robe and a scarf around the neck.

They would have added my hat and fingerless gloves but couldn’t find them.

The heat then went on for three hours mid afternoon until an hour ago, thermostat set to 17C only.

This isn’t manageable for older people and small children and anyone with medical problems.
It’s deadly

How do they survive ever other Winter?

Home heating is THE biggest part of the vast majority of any Brit’s energy bill. This winter it’s now double that of last year for nearly all of us.. I certainly don’t have that kind of money so I have no choice but to halve my heat usage from last year. Last year we were at the maximum we could afford to pay. So were many others. Now consider that they’ve doubled it.

Can put heating on but thinking theres perhaps a cult, who choose not to do so.
