Tinnitus off the charts LOUD today. Anyone else?

Not good my friend, struggling.

Was always hyper aware of my surroundings now that I can't hear I literally stay indoors because I hate not knowing what is going on around me

Never realized how hearing was as important as seeing.

It's the junction so all the way at the base of the brain stem, next up is the potential loss of optic nerves, some issue with bassilary artery

Weird cancer they rarely see, think it may be because they left shrapnel and lead from SIGSW from 1989 in that area. At the time they didn't want to remove it because of where it was located, felt it wouldn't do any harm

Back in October I had what i thought was tnnitus real bad, laid down and poof, no more high pitch whining sound, absolutely nothing, silence.

I became deaf, docs found a tumor at the vestibulocochlear nerve junction.

Life changed dramatically that night in many ways

Yes. It sounds like someone sharpening metal blades but 6 or 7 octaves higher. Like a hissing ringing. Especially when I am finally in bed and hoping for sleep. Just started up really bad the last week. I’m in Colorado 7500 ft above sea level. Not that altitude has anything to do with it but who knows.

Exactly what it sounds like today!

Sharpening steel blades at super high multiple layered sounds, tones... plus maybe a couple of wavey tones.

Super loud today.

I think the way this works is that you find the tone that is close and then narrow it down to the exact frequency when there is no noise. Which means you have matched the tone you are hearing.

Right?

Its been bad last few days. Been causing a panicky feeling. Even though im calm and relaxed.

My tinnitus is crazy today - like someone cranked the knob to 10. I usually only notice it when its really quiet, but today its much louder than normal household noises.

Wouldn't have thought much of it, but I just talked to my mom, 1500 miles away, and she reported the same. We are both in the western US (I'm north, she's south).

Its not my blood pressure, btw. Mom doesn't have high blood pressure either.

Just curious if anyone else is noticing the same?

In theory, if you inverted the phase on the exact frequency and played it back, it would cancel out the original sound.

The thing is, tinnitus isn't actually a real sound, it's all in the brain.
