Was always hyper aware of my surroundings now that I can't hear I literally stay indoors because I hate not knowing what is going on around me Never realized how hearing was as important as seeing. Aww man, cochlear implants possible? It's the junction so all the way at the base of the brain stem, next up is the potential loss of optic nerves, some issue with bassilary artery Weird cancer they rarely see, think it may be because they left shrapnel and lead from SIGSW from 1989 in that area. At the time they didn't want to remove it because of where it was located, felt it wouldn't do any harm You doing okay these days? Last Edited by OU8122 on 01/24/2023 11:16 PM OU8122 |

My frequency is around 11,500 Hz. I don’t live in Denver, but I was there for several nights this week and could not sleep at all, the noise was so intense with generally head pain. Denver is weird though. Last Edited by MaxTork on 01/25/2023 01:58 AM |

Quoting: OU8122 I became deaf, docs found a tumor at the vestibulocochlear nerve junction. Life changed dramatically that night in many ways Is the silence better than tinnitus? |

Like a hissing ringing. Especially when I am finally in bed and hoping for sleep. Just started up really bad the last week. I’m in Colorado 7500 ft above sea level. Not that altitude has anything to do with it but who knows. Quoting: Now you know Exactly what it sounds like today! Sharpening steel blades at super high multiple layered sounds, tones... plus maybe a couple of wavey tones. Super loud today. |

Which means you have matched the tone you are hearing. Right? In theory, if you inverted the phase on the exact frequency and played it back, it would cancel out the original sound. The thing is, tinnitus isn't actually a real sound, it's all in the brain. Last Edited by BFD on 01/25/2023 01:55 PM INFJ/Conservative Artist |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 84092799 United States 01/26/2023 09:12 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Its been bad last few days. Been causing a panicky feeling. Even though im calm and relaxed. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4994834 This helps me sleep Thank You For Sharing! When I first turned it on, I noticed a quick drop in decibels on the tones... Then decibels increased to original levels. The tones are splitting into super high Hz to various very distinctive 5-6000 Hz, sometimes wavey sounds. I'm gonna let this run. Thanks again. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77764542 United States 01/26/2023 09:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Honestly, I'm glad in senses that this is happening to other people because it means something is going on. I was beginning to think that I had brain cancer or something nuts because I've literally been getting it sometimes 2-3 times per day off n on (mostly on) for the past couple of months. It doesn't last terribly long, but the frequency is still odd. Btw I'm not jabbed so I'm not suffering a side effect of anything. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 85124966 United Kingdom 01/26/2023 09:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My tinnitus is crazy today - like someone cranked the knob to 10. I usually only notice it when its really quiet, but today its much louder than normal household noises. Quoting: ringy ears 72435416 Wouldn't have thought much of it, but I just talked to my mom, 1500 miles away, and she reported the same. We are both in the western US (I'm north, she's south). Its not my blood pressure, btw. Mom doesn't have high blood pressure either. Just curious if anyone else is noticing the same? Strange, so I have had tinnitus for five years, and about 3 days ago the frequency went higher, as you say it was normally lower, but a notable shift in the last few days. |

The thing is, tinnitus isn't actually a real sound, it's all in the brain. So my understanding is that what we are hearing is a phantom frequency created by the brain to replace he original sound. The brain overcompensates, so theoretically if played teh same frequency back into your ear over a period of time, then perhaps that would trick the brain into no longer creating the phantom frequency. |

I used to get panic attacks all the time until I switched the rooms. I also have a winter beanie that I bought that seems to help protect my brain unlike some of the fake junk out there. |
