I've always needed my "quiet" time at the end of the day, while raising my kids and working full time etc. It was a matter of sitting out on the back deck, listening to the night sounds......... self reflection. I've had many epiphanies during such times.

Some people call such as meditation; I always called it "going within."

At this point in my life, I'm pretty much always "within." I actually have to go "withOUT" to get out my within, lol.

In a nutshell, I would state it like this: Being centered in your heart space, listening to your inner thoughts, and your intuition.
Love your Creator and love others, before self-preservation.

Re: Turning Within
Every single person should do this (many do not.)

Different people do this in different ways.

A secular way is:

Be in a quiet room, with no disturbances.

Sit in a comfortable chair.

Maybe start by looking out the window, look at the trees, the sky, etc.

Then close your eyes and just relax- think of nothing.

You will find that, after a few minutes you are FEELING. Feeling your body, your mind. Thoughts will drift in, you will ponder these.

This is very relaxing and you can learn much about yourself.

I am a Christian, so I go within on a spiritual level as well as the above.

I do formal prayer every morning (praise, thanksgiving, intercession prayers for myself, others, the world.)

Almost every day, while doing my morning prayer I sometimes find that I have stopped my prayers and I am in a peaceful, calm state- almost trance like. I eventually regain myself and finish my prayers. This is how I start my day, EVERY day.

During the day (most days) I do not have the time to pray for twenty minutes as I do in the morning but many times during the day I will at least for a minute here, a minute there- offer up a prayer.

One thing I am ashamed to admit is that most nights I do not offer up prayer. I DO do this a couple nights a week, but I SHOULD do this every night. I hope the Lord understands that I am very tired at the end of the day. I have multiple health issues so many nights I am exhausted.

Hope this all helps.

Re: Turning Within
Exploring and discovering your innate strength and divinity.
Once found, you're no longer reactive to external circumstances

That's the last thing the evil doers want us to do, hence the importance of doing so
