I took his advice. I first went into the military, but they were to weird for me. Got out after my first enlistment. Some years later, I became a contractor for the federal government and the job came with a pension. I stayed with them for over a decade and then moved on to another government contractor job that came with its own pension. I retired young, living off the 2nd contractor pension for 10 years. Got Social Security at 62, and have been living off of those two "entitlements" since then. Now, finally...that first contractor job pension hits my bank account on February 1st. My grandpa would be very proud of me. I feel sorry for you young people that do not have many jobs that pay a pension when you leave. That little bit of extra money goes along way...that is...until it all collapses...which could be in 3 - 2 - 1... |
