We aren't cut out to be socialists. We are the people who couldn't be constrained by Europe. We are the malcontents, idealists, speculators, dreamers, inventors, debtors and criminals who would not be chained. We don't play well with others, we are brash, outlandish and cunning. let us do what we do best; let us be Americans. |

User ID: 80483752 United States 01/28/2023 12:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In my misspent formative years, I was a Progressive. At least I wanted to be. "Progressive" just sounds good. For that matter, the concept of communism sounds okay; no one's ever going to prosper, but everyone's going to be comfortable (in theory). Maybe a hard worker could prosper a little. No, probably not. I never signed on with the CPUSA, but I had idealistic notions that led me to sympathize in their direction. Which I guess made me a comsymp. But I got over that, and despite what Churchill may have said, it didn't take me 40 years to come around. But before I came around, I was a junior in high school, taking U.S. history, sitting through the same boring lectures from the same boring teacher whose boring lectures I'd been required by state law to sit through two years earlier. My heart went out to him, though – he was the one who had to deliver the same boring lecture, five times a day. I didn't dislike the guy, really. He was a thorough teacher, if you could stay awake. He graded fairly and his tests covered important (but non-essential) stuff like who was Millard Fillmore's vice-president. He wasn't a member of the Birch Society (as far as I know), and he didn't dare come out and praise them in so many words, but he clearly felt that they had some good ideas. For that reason, when I had to write a term paper in the spring semester, I selected the John Birch Society as my topic. My paper was largely historical, covering the society's founding (in Indianapolis, yay), John's story in China (the official story, that is – I'm not sure we've been told the whole truth of his activities), the society's fundamental positions, that kind of stuff. I ended the paper with a criticism of extremism, and I think I finagled a way to paraphrase Barry Goldwater's quote about extremism in defense of liberty being no vice. The paper got me an A. It may have even been an A+. If I had to write the same paper again, a decade or two or so later, I'd structure it differently. I'd have a much more Birch-friendly approach. I'd still have to point out that the Birchers contended that Dwight Eisenhower was a conscious Soviet agent, which is something I find pretty iffy. Dwight was a politician, not so much a natural politician as he was an intelligent, seasoned political administrator. He'd had to make some difficult choices during the war. Some were good choices, some weren't. He (and his crew) took on a tough task in June, 1944, made some bad choices, spent a few tons of treasure and a few tankers of blood, and prevailed. General Eisenhower had dealt with the Soviet leaders more than Mr. Welch had. He knew what he was dealing with. He knew a lot about the military-industrial complex, too. I'd probably be very unfriendly to the UN, even though it'd seemed like such a good idea at the time. I'd embrace the Birch society's objections, and agree that US would do well to wash its hands of UN. In my final analysis, I'd give the Birch society my blessing, although I wouldn't deny that they espouse their share of lunatic fringe ideas. A semi-friendly, vigilant détente isn't a bad thing. We'd be wise to focus our attention more on the Russia's neighbor's activities. I wonder what the Birchers think of Dr. Kissinger. I wonder if Dr. Kissinger regrets inviting Mao into the 20th century. It seemed like the thing to do at the time. |

He made a mistake thinking the ones he was talking to in congress were not communist, many communists had already gotten into congress. He was getting too close to the top guys who were in government agencies and congress, another places around our government. Remember the World Congress is now known in public as the CFR who are not our congress but control a lot of members of our Congress and State department and even Joe went to tell his story about what he did in front of the group in the CFR, this isn't the congress group it the one in a building which was told not to set up on our shores again but a Rich man who was involved in the NWO called Rockefeller was very involved in putting his money into setting up the whole thing, UN, CFR, somehow involved with the monetary system World Bank etc., his new world order, and his partners in crime, Davos and now WEF, are their young groups or what has become of them since the top guys died. These are the faces in public you see, the rest go to DAVOS, and keep up with World Economic Forum because they are just the front for talking, this is just the public face and not all of it is open. Quoting: hankie This didn't happen just by people in the US, no it was a bunch of people who did this and also caused the world wars, Great Britain was one of them, yep, the same Britain ones who said they would get us back, and they hold grudges, not the people in England, it was on the government part of them, agencies. Just as the scholarship they give to some young people, one being Bill Clinton, it to get these to want more involvement with and links to Great Britain. I would let any child of mine to ever take that scholarship for education. We were never to be the same as Great Britain or the rest of them, because they governed from the top down, not from the people up, they give rights and take them away, the people have to constantly fight them for the rights they already in the past achieved. I am getting to the point that closing most of our government down until it totally fixed. I think there maybe ways to keep it running and also fix it while doing so, minimal to keep us safe and protect the helpless while the fixing of the rules and cleaning up these people that should never have been on the government tit. |

But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear." Marcus Tullius Cicero |
