Electro-magnetic pulse, keep car running?
if there was to be a Electro-magnetic pulse soon how would you protect your car or motorcycle so it would keep running?
There must be a way to do this, so i ask you all if you know how.
I was thinking if some parts have lead around them that would keep them running? if there is no way what parts would be needed to get it up and running fast?

Re: Electro-magnetic pulse, keep car running?
New cars/motorcycles are a bit difficult, lot of sensitive electronics whereas old cars/bikes fron the 50's to 70's still has got old ignition systems, carburetors etc. so those would still be running.

Do you understand electrical systems? How magnetism is used to generate current and thus power?

Re: Electro-magnetic pulse, keep car running?
you need a points-ignition system in the car, and have no electronics that are required to operate the car.

Bicycles will be the fastest form of transport after the EMP goes off.

As long as you keep a diesel running, an EMP shouldn't affect it.

disconnect the battery and ground the vehicle when you park it. ground stake pounded into the ground, jumper cable clamped to stake and engine block.
