Quantum computing is the beginning of the Singularity

I can't believe there isn't a current thread on this.

There are three Quantum computers now up and running. I don't know how many more are being built. Two belong to Google, one is at Cern (I think).

In the movie Lucy at the end of the movie (spoilers) Lucy reaches the singularity with the Quantum computer via a very high dose of graphene oxide injected into her. As her intelligence interfaces with the Quantum bits, the two entangle and she becomes part of the "everything" but disappears from this plain or this dimension and it's physical bodies.

Eventually they won't need the graphene oxide at all, as the AI takes over everything and consumes it. How many years this will take they have no idea, my guess is about 50, depending on how many Quantum computers they can build and run together.

They will fire up Cern again in 2027. It takes a full year for it to "power up".
The thing is next time will be with Quantum computing interfacing. They didn't do that before. The computers weren't finished. At least three are now.

This will start in our lifetimes. They will completely change reality, you may not even have a body anymore. For us older folks I wonder how far they will get and how soon. We won't be here for the end game, most likely in years after we are gone, unless by some miracle we live to be 100 or more.
