I think pole reversal is in the bible, Revelations.

8.1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.

The reversal is quite fast, once it begins. But in the process, with the lack of magnetic field the solar wind literally blows the earth's atmosphere away.

There's silence, because there's no sound in the absence of air. I wonder if preppers think to prep oxygen?

After half an hour, the magnetic field returns (albeit reversed). The solar wind is again blocked, and the earth's gravity begins pulling what atmosphere that's left back to the earth.

Much of it is probably gone for good. But enough returns that people should be able to breathe again.

With the thinner atmosphere, all these objects begin falling from the sky and hitting the earth, causing all kinds of chaos. Normally, these things would have been completely burnt up by the atmosphere.

But now, no more of that protection. There's enough atmosphere to get them burning. But they don't burn up. They hit the earth still on fire.

Revelations 8.10 seems to describe a satellite falling to earth, causing a huge deadly plutonium contamination. Normally all that would have been burnt up by the atmosphere before reaching earth.

Revelations 8.12 seems to describe the earth's rotation being increased by 1/3. Perhaps thinner atmosphere causes less drag, allowing the earth to spin faster? Maybe the pole shift resulted in earth losing 1/3 of its atmosphere? Or who can say if the relationship would be exactly that linear. Suffice to say, a percentage of atmosphere is lost.

Revelations 9.1 With all the space debris and satellites now able to constantly pummel the earth's surface, its just a matter of time before the wrong object hits the wrong part of the surface. A particularly big object hits a super volcano (Yellowstone?) causing a super eruption.

Anyways, that's my take on it, as far as the pole shift in the bible is concerned.
