We need to have patience with ourselves

We can be so hard on ourselves, all of the time it seems.

We expect to be on point all of the time.

We strive and strive and set goals and life just destroys us over and over. Again and again.

You might say what kind of God would allow this.

You might say why do we have to suffer so much.

You might say why does life have to take everything from us.

You might say. What’s the point Lord. Why do you have us come here, to be your light, and yet we are despised. You let us be mocked. Turned into fools. Cursed. Why Lord.

And I know Lord you will say we are not destroyed. We are not cursed. You will say Lord, your strength will be shown in our weakness. Your might will be shown in our praise. You will not abandon us. You will be there for us. In the day of turmoil you will lift us up.

But Lord, it’s so hard to believe sometimes. To have faith.

Please Lord. Teach us. and show us that you have prepared good for us. And a table set before our enemies.

Lord, Life is chaotic. Let us see your peace. Let us know your love.
