Do not give your dog anything that could further cause blocks and stress.

No popcorn, no fiber! A chewed plastic bag will have rough edges, this could scrape or tear the intestinal tract, water and wet food, nothing with bone meal or chunks in it, will help keep the pup hydrated and fed but if it’s not eating you do not want to over stress it.

Try to find a real 24hr emergency vet hospital and see how much they charge. It should be illegal.

Maybe at the pound they have autopsy type operations they do from time to time. If you can scan the dog to find the exact location of the plastic bag they might be able to open the dog up to get the bag out, at a cheaper rate than ten grand.

You basically have to have someone who can watch the dog 24/7. If it’s a special unique breed of dog, $10K for surgery is about right with inflation. Over 20 years ago this surgery was $5K.

Options, put dog to sleep. The vet won’t recommend this if the dog is young and should reduce surgery costs by more than half depending on where you live. High income areas will charge more for surgery and care. You can turn the dog over to the veterinary and they’ll do the surgery for free and adopt the dog out once recovered.
