If I'm not mistaken, Europe or the UK has a store that's sort of like that, where you can pick up your catalog order at a counter. That said, if I already know what cosmetics and whatever I want, I could just order them online and have it come to my door, so I don't have to bother going to Walgreens at all. Not that I shop at Walgreens anyway, because I don't, and the one by me went out of business because they opened right by a Walmart and a Target. |

That's it. It seems to me that their new business model would work for Walgreens customers like myself. FYI, for those who have never traveled overseas, there are many bodegas in the southern Americas that use this business model. Those stores are completely sealed off to customers and you have to ask the attendant to retrieve anything you want to buy. Those types of stores have been around for decades now. It can be argued that Walgreens is beginning to adopt a third world business model for their stores. |
