Quoting: Anonymous Coward 86727800 Tesla will pull out of China at some point, or just give cars away there. Once you go into China don't they own 51% of your company? CCP owns all private companies that are within their 'economic zones' by even allowing them to exist. This is why Chinese companies can sell at a loss and still stay in business. If the companies demonstrate that they are taking foreign marketshare, they get subsidized if the goal is to crush the foreign competition. It's sort of a silent tarrif if you want to look at it that way. The USA tarrifs are public, so we all can just look up tarrifs on foreign goods. Much of China's subsidizing is totally silent, so when chinese manufactures get subsidized to gut foreign competition (even within the USA market), we can't figure out how they can sell so low and stay in business. Tesla will not win this fight, so they should back out of China and instead push to have Chinese EVs banned in the USA. |
