That’s a g a month. My wife has an suv that was a little less. Insurance and gas is very high here (Cali). I need reliable vehicles and used wouldn’t really save me much as my interest rate on the cars are under 2%. |

I could maybe rent a 3br apartment for 4k. So yeah this is the price I have to pay to live here and make my salary. |

You add a couple college-aged kids and a greedy ex-wife and that won't go very far. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 84209669 United States 01/27/2024 07:32 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I left out $250/week for student loans as well…1k a month for me and the wife. She makes 100k when she works. Since she’s in my tax bracket she would keep around 50-60. Childcare for 2 kids here is 40k a year. No reason for her to work. Rather her be home with the kids then have an extra 20k a year… |

The only other state my business possibly could work is south Florida and housing is high there as well. But no state taxes would help. I’m not in a position to shut down my business here and move it though. I worked to hard building up a client base here. My business is in the yacht industry. |
