Quoting: Anonymous Coward 85606591 I don't really want to sound like everyone else, just wondered if there are like generic dance drum patterns I can in put and then alter to my taste. Drum patterns as in already drawn in the DAW. Get the XO drum from XLN |

It had amazing midi drum mapper called Ezplayer I believe. It was so easy you could make the best sounding drums: this was in 2007 or so. I’m sure there’s much better drums now. Good luck. Its VST interface was great. This was windows XP 32bit VST stuff. Last Edited by 47Cide on 02/05/2024 07:38 AM Cideus. |

The only negative is that it costs about $350, but its worth it The evil we project onto a scapegoat, is the evil we are unwilling to face within ourselves |

But I rock Superior with a bunch of packages and XO XLN. Studio One DAW when set up correctly is the best imo. Fl Studio is built for what you're looking for but I think it's better with Studio One and good plugins |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 85606591 France 02/05/2024 08:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well I will re-phrase that. I write music electronically on PC. I compose music, I write the vocals lines and lyrics, I sing, I play bass and guitar and synth /keys in real life...lol. But love the immediacy of writing new experimental dance and chill music in a DAW....just crap at drums...I can't be good at everything. |

This will allow you to get good at using compression or compressors and other distortion which will be applied in the VST instrument within the daw chain. This will give your drums the lush electronic sound like Agonize, Leather Strip, and other relative bands and their distinctive drum sounds. Last Edited by 47Cide on 02/05/2024 08:10 AM Cideus. |

I am pretty good at production but mastering is another art/experience. I need to learn how to use a compressor correctly. |

Drum patterns as in already drawn in the DAW. Any DAW that supports importing MIDI files can do this. Then you can use a VSTi drum machine, or use sampled sounds for each track or channel piano roll pattern. PreSonus Studio One. Cakewalk Sonar. Image Line Fl Studio. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77506217 United States 02/05/2024 10:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Drums are my issue as well. I bought a full electronic drum kit and have been learning. It is hard and there is also a very slight delay I have worked around and almost completely gone now and is grooveable. I keep reading you can use the midi controller to a midi mapper to get rid of delay entirely I don’t get how you do this though. Seems really confusing. I am using the unlocked student version of reaper which I have used for years and really like. I hear you though in super good at guitar but drums are the bane of my existence and it’s the most important part of making a professional sounding song and there so few good drummers out there. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 85195202 United States 02/05/2024 10:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ableton Ableton Ableton Ableton You will not need any plug ins. The built in drum extraction is fire. Grab any sample and extract the drums. Then you can edit the midi file as you like. You have limitless sample importing. You could even make your own sounds using the built in instruments. As with any DAW you will never get anywhere unless you learn a DAW. Ableton is truly the most powerful out there. |
