I just got back from grocery store 10 minutes ago. Used Visa. Chip reader wouldn't work but sliding the card worked just fine. Maybe only some areas or particular stores affected?

I do cash only at Kroger anyway to maintain autonomy anyway, I am not registred in the system. I boycotted kroger for over 2 years during covid becaseu of their overall policies and a few other reasons. I ditched my card and demanded to be removed from thier system and mailing list . It's ALL stopped, the bi weekly malings and emails were so annoying.

Finally I went back one day, got a card, but am not registered for the "super" discounts, so they don't know who is actually buying the items. I always suspected the grocery store cards were the precurser to the new system. Now they have a third tier for fully registed customers, and you often get 1.00 off a sale item with it. Howver, you are then being monitered for everything you buy both at thier stor and everywhere else.

^This^ East Oregon, chip reader won't work at the gas station but the slider worked just fine. Was funny though because some blue haired Karen was losing her mind over it. Don't know why though, lol.
