actually summer glau (cameron) was very similar in looks and ahem... 'ability' as my latvian x-girlfriend.. so lithe and deadly. everything was deliberate. i'm not too sure if she was an employee of a fsb detachment though.

Yep, good show. Best episode for me was 2 weeks ago (part 1 of the submarine mission). Brian 90210 has become quite a bad-ass.

I think it sucks. It drags. Not enough action. Like some kind of agonizing psychodrama. Doll House is a lot better.

Latvia was a choice area for procuring female field agents. It was never completely Russianized, and the population had an amazing ability to procure and adapt western items and culture, even under the Soviet thumb, so they tended to be "naturals" when training for western infiltration.

Plus, they weren't Russian, so when you were done with them, or when an operation went bad, they'd just toss them to the wolves, preferably with a boatload of bogus information, so when they were interrogated, they did your disinformation job for you.

For me it's good story-telling. If you ration out the hefty confrontations, each one weighs that much more. Just like low-scoring hockey :)

Intriguing you have a better feel for what I am talking about than I do. You understand that little tweak in personal dynamics and the stripped down psychological edge some people give off.

She was also an identical twin and both of them were very well educated in a formal sense. The other left for Central Europe... But many of Her life details She chose to reveal seemed somewhat oblique and peculiar... almost too humble for what She really appeared to be.

I mean a polyglot, something like 7 languages, bushcraft, basic hand to hand and edged, calisthenics, isometrics, small arms, the arts, history, religious and literary studies.... seemed like my dream woman.

I always left it to mere cultural differences, her uniqueness. But she definitely was one of those rare classy women you notice immediately... hehe she made sure I knew I walked into her territory when I first glimpsed her. She gave me a sidelong sneer.

In the end, we lived with each other for a year. But I offended her, and I never heard from her again save one time after she had cropped her luxurious chestnut hair off and refused flowers. She called me one last time to tell me she saw me having dinner on a summertime patio in the city.
