From what they say, then yes. Supposidly they run all conversations through a filter looking for key words. If they admit to that much then there is no telling what else they really do. I suspect the big corporations have access to the data also to figure out your habits. That would explain why they seem to know so much about everyone.

I don't think the phone service providers themselves would record all conversations, nor would they have the capacity to. Same goes with internet providers, they don't record everything.

But in both cases, they do keep logs of all traffic. Who you called, what site you visited, etc...

The government is the one that would actually know what to do with that data. Most companies are short sighted

I don't think its the phone companies. All their equipment is tied into the government. So it would be the government of their contractors that record the stuff. Its all digital so all they are recording is zeros and ones.
