Quoting: Anonymous Coward 693857I have a murray 12 hp riding lawn mower and I just killed it recently. I'm not that mechanically inclined, but I believe the engine block cracked. I'm looking for a good site or parts store that sells the engine used. I would hate to pay anything reasonable for it since you can get a used mower anyway for around $400, but this mower is still good otherwise. Can you help? thanks so much Mona I have an 12hp Agway sitting in the yard that you can have...It is the same bolt pattern as the one you have, and all you need is to swap the engines and the pully on the bottom... But you have to come get it... |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 693783If it is a Murray, it should be a B&S... I would do what you suggest and just find a used one and swap. tearing apart the Piston/shaft/carb etc. and trying to put it on a new block is too time consuming. You can find used mowers with 12 HP b&G's all over the net in the classifieds for next to nothing. Last Edited by Richard Strong on 06/03/2009 09:32 AM I am Richardus Strongus. The last rider I bought, I paid the princely sum of $40 US for...Came with mowing deck, cart, and a snow-blower...It is my main around-the-house 'lawn tractor', and I mow two yards down the road on the weekends...I have made $150-$200/week off that $40 mower for the last 5 years... I take any and all 'broken' mowers, and will even come collect them... Two that I got in free piles at lawn sales in the last two weeks took a total of 1 hour to clean the carbs and get running on first pull...One sold for $70 last week, the other went for $75 just last night...I have two more freebies to clean and sell this afternoon...These I got because they each had a broken wheel...Neither is more than 2 years old... The AgWay that I have has a bad tranny, but the motor is excellent... I love rich people junk... |

When he saw me pick it up, he asked me if I wanted the monitor and printer to go with it. Then he asked me if I wanted the chainsaw he couldn't get running. It needed a new spark plug and wire. Now I'm waiting for guy down the road to give up trying to sell that pickup cap, so I can go over and take that too. Rich folks are wonderful. |
