User ID: 869023 United States 08/21/2010 06:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm a crafter & thrifter myself. On eBay I used to sell both my jewelry designs and things I'd found from thrift stores, garage sales, etc. Now I'm an ETSY devotee. eBay has wayyyy too many fees. If you're crafty definitely try ETSY. one thing I found as a jewelry designer is that it's actually a lot more profitable to sell the components for the crafts, say beads for jewelry, rather than the crafts themselves. Heck, even selling pretty handmade gift tags can generate some healthy spending money! Seriously, do a search for those on ETSY. You can also sell your thrifted items on Craigslist in your general locale. Are you good at web graphics? Another thing I used to sell was custom templates for eBay sellers. You can do this on ETSY too. Sell avatars, shop banners, etc. I still design websites here and there but mostly for my friends and family. Anyhoo, great thread! onthehook User ID: 1126207 United States 10/11/2010 07:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | For those that are good at art, we took a little road trip last summer, stopped at a Montana Sapphire mine, I figured I could get to sit with my sixteen year old and BS for a change (he's always on the move) anyway we tried it, it was kind of fun, and after going through around nine buckets of gravel we ended up with around 175 carats of nice Montana Sapphires, the largest is a little over two carats, to make a long story short, there is a place right next to the mine that will fire and cut the gems, or if you have time you can talk with a local jeweler and get the name of a chinese outfit - apparently the put more facets for cheaper, if you tell them to cut the stones on even increments of two mm you can buy rings to mount them in your self, a sapphire around two carat can go for up to a couple thousand. Who knows you might find that ten carat stone. Another iteresting thing is the used rings being sold, google Sapphires, 30000$ rings (even couple stars selling) for 2500$ might be some money there somewhere. It would be good for the arts and crafts type person who has the time, you can buy raw stones too pretty cheap. Just an idea. |

Perceived circles or lines are not exactly circular or straight, and true circles and lines could never be detected since by definition they are sets of infinitely small points. |
