Thanksgiving All Alone

I spoke to my parents on the phone earlier today (they live many miles away overseas) and they were enjoying Thanksgiving eating turkey and all sorts of other goodis. I told them I would be going to a friends house and she was cooking and I'd chow down myself. Truth is I have no friends and I'm spending the night alone at home, for yrs I've acted like I have a great life and that I'm happy (in front of my family) when in reality I suffer from major depression (got worse when I returned from Afghanistan..I'm ex military). Is it sad that I miss war? Im almost broke, no job, will probably be homeless in the next couple of months and to boot I've been having some kind of growth on my tongue which I'm afraid might be oral cancer (history of it in family) but I don't have the cash for a biopsy n not sure if the VA hospital would pay for one. I sure hope there is something better awaiting me in the after life because this current life has givin me nothing but pain n suffering. For all of you who are happy, I bid you a great thanksgiving and give thanks for all the great things you have because many of us around the world don't have much at all to thank for.
