Re: Tips For Growing Out Hair
Shower but use shampoo like twice a week ..

.. don't use regular shampoos .. get one or make one with shea butter (100%) and essential oils or buy ones ..

Go to the ethnic section and get yourself a cocoa butter hair mask and use it twice a month .. I leave em on for like a half hour ..

I take it you are vegan so you can't have geletin right? ..

Don't brush your hair .. finger pic it when it's wet and blow dry it on a low heat to keep it seperate ..

Shea butter, that's new no doubt!
 Quoting: Aphrodite Harmonia

It is the new big thing round here .. there is a store you go in and they scrape it right there and mix it with essential oils for all kind of body products .. you can even you use it for er um .. a warming lubrication lol ..

I am hesitant because I guess shea butter is often fake .. and I pay about 14 dollars for a small tub of it .. but they have it on amazin for maybe 6 dollars in a bigger amount .. I wanna give that a try .. see if it's good or not ..

Take vitamin D at the rate of 1000 IU for every 25 lbs of body weight.

You'd be surprised how wide spread vitamin D deficiency is. It's not your typical vitamin you get from food. We get it from the sun and our body converts it into powerful steroid hormone that acts as genetic repair and maintenance hormone.

Initially, I took vitamin D supplement to prevent flu, cold, etc which really worked and since then, huge amount of new research flowed in and showed impressive stuff.

Don't wash it at all, just wet it with water, so it doesn't get greasy.

Shea Butter fake? Hmm, that's strange, I'm in the process of making an apple cider vinegar/chamomile tea mix. I'm interested in the Shea Butter though, but I don't know about going to a salon for such.
John works 40 hours a week at a factory job. His rate of pay is $12.00 per hour. This week he worked an additional 3.5 hours of overtime for which he is paid $18.00 per hour. If he stops at the bar on the way home and drinks up 40% of his paycheck, how long until his wife piles all his shit up on the sidewalk?

Re: Tips For Growing Out Hair
Your diet determines your hair.

You can tell a person's nutritional status by looking at their hair.

Feed your hair with nutritous food. And, Yes... that includes proteins and fat.

You do not have to be fat (although most fat people have nice shiny hair).....just be healthy.

trust me...I am always thin...but this summer got way too thin ..and my hair seriously started breaking and thinning out...ugh! I've been trying to get it healthy again since about October.

Re: Tips For Growing Out Hair
I can tell you how to really increase hair length and thickness. It may not work for you though, but it works great for me. Its call Natural. Just go Natural. I am a black male and i have long thick healthy dreadlocks that go mid back. I wash my hair once or twice a week. But i wash it with black soap. Its a chemical free soap bar thats great for bathing and washing. It comes from Ghana, Africa. Its made out of the elements of earth so its no worrries.. Dont grease or oil your hair. Just spray it with water before bed each night. and try to get sunshine on either your hair or skin. Either or they both absorb the suns energy so... Good luck. If you think Marley or lenny kravitz had thick hair. Then its best to do as above cause im just as thick and thats what i do. I dont know if it works for the european man, but it works great for any body that is a 'Natural' inhabitant of the earth.

Someone mentioned dreads earlier in this thread, thank you for the advice. I dated a guy who grew his hair out in five years, his dreads are thick and stunning.

Oh yes ... Get plenty of sleep, and rest when you are tired.

My hair is down to my hips, but I have bangs. I notice I need to trim them more often when I sleep longer (and more thoroughly) and take naps.

Thank you! As for the sleep, trust me, I get enough of it.. I heard stress makes it stop growing along with everything else, nails, etc..

Clove Oil and Coconut Oil seems to be a good remedy.. I hope, I have a short cut!
 Quoting: Omni Vegan Loveseed

Stress does not slow down hair growth, not one bit. I am under a ton of stress and my hair grows like a window shade being pulled down. Also, I sleep very little. My suggestion would be to drink more milk and spend some time in the sunshine everyday. That makes my hair grow even faster.

Some people have slow growing hair and some have fast. You are only going to speed it up a little whatever you do. I've got one window shade hair growing daughter and one whose hair would make Rapunzel grow old before she was rescued from the tower waiting on it to grow long enough.

Awe how cute! I understand but I'd rather have a little rather than none at all. This is my hair when it was long:

Only because I go into the store, purchased and LOVE there products .. they shave off the shea butter right in the store .. Really good people :)

I really wouldn't recommend a cider rinse for your hair .. you want all the natural oils you can get .. and from my experience it is beneficial for girls who have to much going on .. oil, dandruff, etc ..

Thanks so much for your advice, everyone's for that matter, and +1 for help. For the past few days I've been just letting it go, not blow drying it or straightening it, I went to rehab for a month three years ago and we weren't allowed blow dryers or straighteners so I kept my hair down. It grew 1 1/2 inches in 30 days. I was as shocked as my family.

Can someone help me with hairloss? I'm 20 and was vegan for 8 months and then fasted for 57 days and over the time lost 1/2 inch of hair on my temples. This was a year ago and since changing my diet, I haven't lost anymore hair, so I know it was from that. What should I take to help it grow back?

I know this sounds insane .. because I am semi there ..

But would you consider shaving your head .. just maybe leaving bangs .. or nothing at all ..

I dyed my hair a lil over a year ago RUINING IT .. had been down to my waist since a young teen .. I hated it .. and growing up I use to beg my mother to let me have a shaved head or mohawk (the eighties) .. and was refused ..

So I shaved my head .. and my hair which was already thick and strong (once it started growing with some of the helps I previously mentioned) .. my hair is thicker, stronger, and more shinier then ever .. and I kinda like my now chin length hair ..

Shaving my head gave me a LOT of confidence :) .. it wasn't a sick pop star moment .. more of a, I wonder what it feels like if ..

You know I have thought of that actually. But when I got it cut the most recent times I couldn't even pinch and hold it since it was so short. Now I'm taking care of it better than ever. But there is a girl in my town who did what you mentioned. She has tattoos all over her face and she shaved her hair in order to grow it back thick and lusciously. I admire her because of her confidence walking around the way she does.

-----------

As for the faster, I genuinely think it's because of not getting enough nutrients during fasting. That can be very dangerous.
