Try living here. You'll smell it by evening. Malaysians traditionally shower/wash twice a day.

I use this amazing thing called a shower.. no deoderant needed

Will this affect clothing in any way? How about putting clothes that have product on it into the washing machine?

I take two showers a day as well, but if I don't use some kind of deodorant, my pits will still stink.

I think you just can't smell yourself. Either that, or everyone there is use to smelling B.O. on one another.

I think we are achieving the same thing by using the baking soda. I tried it again today and I have been in pain all day long. The lady on the video said the irritation lasted three weeks. I guess it takes that long to burn through the skin layers so as to eventually get to the stink glands and cauterize them with the burning fires of hell.

I don't know. Maybe we should try.

It works really well. Took a shower last night, tried it out...in the morning, all good. So, showered again, went all day...still all good, absolutely no trace of anything.

And I am not having any irritation under my arms, at all (that may change, but as of now, nope).

Why in the heck did we ever use anything else? We'll see if in the summer it works as well, but all I have to say, is thank you Who.

I had to stop using baking soda as well because it gave me a painful rash.

Hm, I think that maybe is simpler than that. Maybe sodium bicarbonate sets an acidic environment where bacteria just can't grow and the irritation thing is about your skin getting used to it.

Some people carry a small package of baby wipes to keep them from smelling. Dollar General has a package of flushable baby wipes that smells really good.

I was pissed off at so many people saying this works and that doesn't for each single product and stuff... that once I discovered that this really works, I wanted to share it with all of you!

Having tried sodium bicarbonate and taking into account it's so simple, I don't think I will change it for something else, but thank you for your suggestion!

Funny OP, I had an odd memory today from my childhood about just that topic. My grandmother was born in the deep south in 1900. Pioneer Florida at that time was without modern plumbing, electricity, refrigeration (you get it) and hot and sultry 7 months of the year. BO was a problem. She used many old time products. She washed first with homemade soap, rinsed in salt water in the winter and vinegar water in the summer. Followed by rinse of baking soda under arms and on her "poonany.". She dusted with talcum powder throughout the day. And everyone "sponged off" again late afternoon. We worked hard days on a tobacco farm all day, we all wilted by then, but no one smelled for long. I was in high school before antiperspirants were invented, so these were popular remedies until the 50s.
I still wash my hair with baking soda and vinegar. Then rinse with conditioner. My 63 year old long hair still shiny and clean, soft and straight.

Haha, reminds me of my grandma, too. She was born in 1911. Loved talcum powder, especially Ammens, used to douse me in the stuff when I was a child. Nice story, and wisdom.

I've been looking for a more natural deodorant . I just mixed some baking soda, coconut oil, a smidgen of cornstarch and am thinking of adding a few drops of a lavender jojoba oil mix that I made up recently.

I have always felt that the invention of anti-perspirants coincided with the rise of breast cancer.

Sweat releases toxins. ANTI-perspiration keeps in the toxins, not to mention that ithe stuff is full of chemicals that can seep into the sensitive lymph glands and breast area. Anti-perspirant didn't even get popular until the 60's.

I wouldn't think so. Toothpaste is just as, if not more, aggressive as hydrogen peroxide. I've been using it for a while and it feels much more gentle than that stingy minty flavor every morning.
