Both sides have had tanks, - and anti-tank measures - since the 'ceasefire' in 1954.

Why is anyone taking this seriously?

Good question, but once they're done building them we can surely expect some word (or action) from Kim. You don't shut down the border, evacuate everyone and build anti-tank defences if you're not planning on doing something big.

Both sides have anti-tank inventory in their arsenals, but just recently North Korea canceled the Armistice, declared war and is now putting its Army to work building tank barricades along the border. This is something that happens when a country knows it is about to be attacked, either pre-emptively or in retaliation for something it is about to do.

This is why I think it's newsworthy.

As you can probably tell, North Korea is a topic of interest to me. It's arguably the last Cold War relic that realistically has the potential for actual nuclear (and world) war.

They have been building on that border for 50 years, anyone who believes they didnt already have anti tank barricades in place before now is a moran.

That was nice of them to honor our timeout for the Boston bombings.

The DMZ maybe, but not elsewhere.. Not to my knowledge anyway..

They spend all their money on military spending, the entire country is covered in underground tunnels, bunkers, mines, barricades, etc. They have had a single minded focus on war prep for 50 years.

I heard Lil' Kim got an autographed "Boston Strong" t-shirt in exchange for his patience.

He's now free to resume his role in the war game.

Well I guess we now know for sure why tomorrow's big miltary parade was cancelled and what all those troops will be doing INSTEAD of parading up and down the square the way they would typically do on this day...It seems they're busy elsewhere.

well, i saw the James Bond movie, and i thought a
5 mile wide swath of the DMZ was already covered with tank traps!
