Women like "bad boys" because they're childish/boyish or have adolescent machismo. Women see this and they say "Now there's somebody I can emotionally manipulate." Women are controlling, by nature. An intelligent, confident guy may not tolerate game-playing, so she can't get the upper hand in that setting. That's my theory.
