Blue Dots on Mailboxes | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 43966487 United States 08/08/2013 07:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I say it is BS. Reason is I do not have a mail box. There are tons of people like me that have mail slots in the door. Never mind the ones that have PO boxes. Ever since I heard of this I look everywhere I went and never seen one. I have been in numerous states since I first heard of this and nothing, nada not one. So, in some area this actually did happen it is not a FEMA country wide ID system. Can't be. |

This has been common knowledge for a while now. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24156714 This is ridiculous and untrue for various reasons. A) Mailboxes are usually clustered into 1 or 2 groups per block. They are NOT in front of each household, and newspapers are *always* thrown into people's driveways. It would make no sense to have a dot on a clustered mailbox a hundred feet away. B) There are numerous newspapers in any given city. That would be a lot of dots C) It is a federal offense to tamper with a mailbox in any way. That's why solicitors place crap on your front door instead of in your mailbox. |

Around here, you only see those mailbox clusters at condos and newer subdivisions. Most neighborhoods in my city have 1 mailbox per house, set close to the house or down by the road near the driveway. |

It is so substitute delivery people know that you get the paper and on which days. One color is M-F, another color is F-Sun, and another color is Sunday-only. For freakin-sake, just ask your delivery person and they will tell you. |
