Then the question begs: is the lying, cheating, bed-hopping, stealing, killing that is also depicted in the soaps age appropriate content in your opinion? I understand your desire to attack the thing you don't like, but there's not a single thing about soaps that's appropriate for any child to watch, yet soap fans turn on the program every day, boosting ratings and generating advertising dollars - and many of them do it while their children are present.

An analogy here would be: two drug addicts choosing to do drugs; yet the heroine addict is condemning the cocaine addict because he doesn't like cocaine.

The solution here is simple, don't choose the soap opera. When enough people are choosing something better, the soap opera will suffer ratings decline, advertising decline and the network will replace it with something that does make money.

I don't mean to sound hard on you OP, you seem genuinely concerned - but the dichotomy here is that you are even choosing to watch soap operas in the first place :(

Other way around good chance. These shows and the subject matter are just the vehicle they use to communicate their view of sexuality. The show's primary purpose or any for that matter were never gardening, decorating, cooking - the primary objective of the shows producers were to change worldviews and religions, get people away from the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Lord told us bad company would corrupt our morals. We should have obeyed Him completely and had nothing to do with anyone whether radio, tv, movies - anything - unless we had done as He said and tested the spirits in them to see if they were from Christ and if they weren't then we were to have nothing to do with them, not seek counsel or entertainment from them nothing.

There are reasons behind this. Sinister reasons in my opinion. We need to be awake and aware. Because with or without our awareness or input, society is and WILL continue to be shaped around us. This thread is meant as INFORMATION ONLY. So that folks can be, stay and keep informed.

Like it or not TV is often an accurate reflection of how society thinks and operates. It may not be 100% accurate, but lets not throw the baby out with the bathwater. There is knowledge to be gained by being aware and keeping informed about what much of society is watching.

I am not naive to the things you have mentioned. I have been with this website since 2006. I am both awake and aware. But I'm not a defeatist. I have not and will not give up. I may only have my own little corner of the world, but thanks to the internet..that little corner is expanding. It allows me to reach out and get people talking and thinking, just as this thread is doing.

Wow, I haven't seen a soap opera in over 20 years. That was really uncomfortable to watch. That's on T.V.? Regular daytime T.V. soaps?

I've watched Days for years. I FF during the Will and Sonny
scenes. Even though I don't care what people do in their
private lives, I don't want to see it.

But, I think the bottom line here is that Soaps are a dying
breed and they are doing this for RATINGS. You would be surprised at how many gay men watch these shows because they
now openly show gay romances.

And, to the poster who said because they were on during the day that kids would not be seeing them, most kids have weeks of a time off of school. Spring Break etc not to mention they
have time off during the summer months in most places.
So, they have many opportunities to watch these shows.

I'm starting to wonder if gays really only make up 2% of the population the way everyone is catering to them.
