Riding a donor cycle is a risk you take, especially in cities...had 3 years under my belt in SF and never saw that coming...very bike friendly. Those ribs still hurt anytime I sit in a wooden chair, and winter is fun with the arthritis for all this time. There's two types of peeps who ride...those that fall and those that are going to. Congrats on your succession. The reason I survived I know is that 1) I was young and 2) I knew I had to survive and that was my only goal in life. I couldn't breathe and took my helmet off and saw the bottom of my boot facing me on my chest and thought my leg was cut off and just had to calm myself down because I thought if I stopped breathing I would die. Both lungs were collapsed so I couldn't breathe much, just shallow breathes. Whatever. I got a better bike and did a 9000 mile trip around our great nation in 2007-ish: :devilduc: please ride off a cliff. |

What lead up to it: I was coming up to a yellow light, sped through and broadsided a car. Nobody in the car was hurt What happened was; the car was coming up to a red and then it changed to green. They already had momentum so off they went. I hit their car at 55MPH. My bike was destroyed on impact and I destroyed the side of their car. my girlfriend my family and my friends don't want me to riding a bike again. Honestly I can understand where they're coming from because I put them through a lot. They didn't know if I was going to die or become a vegetable. Even my girlfriend stay by my side the entire time. What's really cool is how she stayed by my side the entire time. We're only been dating for 4 months at the time. she could have up and left, instead she was by my bedside the entire time. She didn't even care if I would end up retarded or vegetable, she truly loves me for me. all in all I was able to leave the hospital after only one month.my recovery was amazingly fast. Glad to hear you're OK, brother. As a fellow motorcyclist, may I recommend to you a ketogenic diet to help your brain recover from the effects of concussion? Use lots of MCT oil (as it is converted straight into ketones by the liver, a much more reliable fuel for a concussed brain than glucose), take taurine (supplements or animal hearts), and get ample magnesium (most Americans are criminally deficient in this brain-health-promoting mineral). If you go fully ketogenic, you'll experience several pounds of water loss (as glycogen is stored in water) at first - make sure to get lots of salt, potassium, and magnesium to replace lost electrolytes.
