Grow a pair and enjoy your life. stop being so damn afraid of death. death will come, until then do what you really want whether its dangerous or not. |

User ID: 51786855 Canada 06/02/2014 11:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So you gunned a yellow and ran a red light. A vehicle proceeded through the intersection on a green light, and hit a bike that was trying to beat a red light? Did I read that correctly? Decisions happen in a split second bud. I feel your pain, but I hope you see the error in your ways. Looking for sympathy from others to try and help you feel better about what you did, isn't going to help. Any chance you motovlogged this adventure? If you get a chance, go check 'Twist of the Wrist II" it's a great riding instructional video that I think every rider should watch. Not bashing, just trying to help a fellow rider stay safe. We need all the help we can get out there, bud. Ride safe. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 58742760 United Kingdom 06/02/2014 11:10 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | the OP has a legit issue, I think it should go back to that and stop this soccer mom pulling out in front of ppl stuff and I am personally glad OP it OK...it happens to the best of us when we have to ride around, obeying traffic laws and then some dumb shit pulls out in front of us. Quoting: deathpossum Thanks. Its NOT illegal to go through yellow despite what others think. Cars SPEED THROUGH yellow lights too. Anyways.. I'm doing great. The tendons in my left arm are still going through the stretching process. My right eye is dimmed but still usable. I'm just waiting for my skull piece to come back. Should be another month I think you'll find it is. It's called reckless driving. |

You better hope I don't see you on the street because I am not religious and wouldn't have a second thought to what I'd like to do to you. Sorry I'm not gay, but thanks for the offer... |

Both of them dressed up like you'd expect from a typical squid. After the accident the SIL went and did a AMA as if she was a hero. Couldn't understand why everyone was bashing her. A serious rider can cut through a Sunday riders BS story in seconds, imop. They're learning tools Opie ... and painful ones at that. If you take it for what it really is hopefully you knock off blowing red lights in the concrete jungle. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 8383650 United States 06/02/2014 12:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Fuck yeah! Quoting: deathpossum I got creamed in SF in 2001 by an ambulance blowing a red light, no lights, no siren...radial fracture on the right femur, 5 broken ribs, both lungs collapsed, and a rib in one of them that took SF General a month to find. Oh, and a broken pinkie on the left hand that is still to this day broken. Riding a donor cycle is a risk you take, especially in cities...had 3 years under my belt in SF and never saw that coming...very bike friendly. Those ribs still hurt anytime I sit in a wooden chair, and winter is fun with the arthritis for all this time. There's two types of peeps who ride...those that fall and those that are going to. Congrats on your succession. The reason I survived I know is that 1) I was young and 2) I knew I had to survive and that was my only goal in life. I couldn't breathe and took my helmet off and saw the bottom of my boot facing me on my chest and thought my leg was cut off and just had to calm myself down because I thought if I stopped breathing I would die. Both lungs were collapsed so I couldn't breathe much, just shallow breathes. Whatever. I got a better bike and did a 9000 mile trip around our great nation in 2007-ish: :devilduc: I'm sorry about the complications :( Also.. I'd get another Nike.. But my girlfriend doesn't want me having another due to the pain I put her through. I love her enough to respect her wishes no offense, but you're a wuss and your girl will leave you for an OUTLAW BIKER who does what he pleases. fyi |

My girlfriend and I were brought extremely closer. We BOTH say that something bigger than us forced us together and that we couldn't be happier. It was as if the universe was proving to us both that we cared about each other more than we saying we were and it was going to prove it to us. As for the bad ass who jacks it to biker fantasies.. She is already putting me on her life insurance and vice versa. I'm going to be a water treatment operator and she is studying for doctorate so can teach as a professor and is studying cancer research.. Riding a bike requires expanding your awareness as far as you can, and half the time imagining what you would do in a wreck. In OPs case, I imagined Tboning a car many times, and when it happened, I survived it by leaping at impact, exactly as imagined. I still say, any bike accident is the fault of the biker. |

Other drivers actions might put me in a bad spot, but it's my inattentiveness that allowed me to be put into that position, in the first place. |
