I think they are underestimating a new strain of ebola, never seen before treating it like the old ebola trusting the CDC who said it wasn't Airborne and that they would be safe taking the precautions to protect against a less virulent strain.

One of the more competent responses I've seen here.

People are infectious days before symptoms show up.The virus can survive for days on things like doorknobs, money, furniture, equipment, etc. They are getting infected when they least expect it. They are somewhat protected in their gear at they clinic, but pick up the bug outside the clinic.

I hope its not sharing needles...

My guess would be they contacted it by touching the same object that they touched when they had their gloves on.Possibly a door knob,or sink handle.

Why are they wandering around outside the containment area with their gloves on? What kind of precautions are they taking?

If it can be caught as easy as touching door knobs that's pretty bad.Think of how many other door knobs they could be coming in contact with once they leave the building.Restaurant doors,public bathrooms,gas stations,shopping buggies,everything they touch while grocery shopping,produce.

One nurse said she got it by touching the skin of someone who had it. Must be easy for the virus to come out in sweat on the skin.

It must create a biofilm that coats the entire skin - clearly you can catch it by brushing against someone in a crowded area - and whatever they touch - they leave a bit of that biofilm, such as on restaurant menus.
