Seattle City Council wants to fund internet in homeless camps

HA! so you've never seen stumblin drunks and addicts WITH shower access? showering is real close to the last thing (if at all) they think about when rising from a stupor. and hey...with you bein a businessman and all with some kind of special outlook compared to the rest of us...you should open up your yard and home to all these poor innocent hungry homeless. have a few work at your home too so they know if you have children or that your wife is home alone while you're off at work. remember Elizabeth Smart? funny thing that her dad and hers last name was Smart...but it was exactly the opposite of what her dad really was. thanks for inviting the homeless psycho over to kidnap and rape me with his girlfriend for 9 months dad. it was so fun at 14 years of age havin dicks and tongues along with a few inanimate objects stuck in all of my orifices against my will. wish you could've been there to see.

there's not one enabling whiner on this thread that's bringing any of these derelicts into their homes...but feel just fine sittin on a throne sayin what the rest of us should do. to all the enablers...PUT UP OR SHUT UP.

i bowled in leagues at the ole Sunset Bowl as a kid in the 70's. for quite a while it even had pretty good food for a bowling alley and had a pretty good customer base that didn't even bowl. i lived just off of Aurora between Fremont and Wallingford. it was a different world back then.

I was upset when Sunset Bowl went. It's one place after another getting torn down for overpriced bland condos. I wanted to live in an interesting town with history and character - it's turning into a corporate campus. At least the Europeans didn't tear down everything "old," like here.

I've worked in employment and HR for more than 20 years for multiple fortune 1000 companies so I know this is a load of crap.
Most of the homeless have mental or physical disabilities. 90% of jobs require basic computer skills. If only to actually APPLY FOR THE JOB. Who is going to do this for them. Or train them?

I know a few homeless people in Seattle - you are right, many are severely mentally ill, or major drug abusers; however, some are NOT. One that I know has a 4 year degree, and fell apart when the economy collapsed, so is homeless. One guy I know used to work as a paralegal, then lost his job and apartment when the economy fell, was homeless for a year, then got back on his feet and is now working and with an apartment again. You have preconceived notions about homeless - they are NOT all the same. Some are just like you and me - only they have no income and are having a hard time getting back onto their feet. Hopefully it never happens to you - you probably couldn't handle it.

Um, have him move he fuck outta Bellevue. He's worried about a $75 internet bill but pays that much for a studio? Tell him to move his ass to Rainier Beach and get a $700 studio. Lame ass yuppie.

I know 48 families in South Dakota that are homeles and noe have mental disabilities. THey all lost long term jobs and ran out of unemployment and cant afford 800 a month for apartment but all the African, Central American, EthiopAn,Mexican immigrants get all the help they need plus more than they need.

This. One of the cities just south of Seattle ... Kent? ... made it illegal to go into public buildings if you smell bad. Will someone from the Socialist Republic of Puget Sound verify this? It was a couple of weeks ago.

I've talked to some of the homeless people, and there are former professionals among them, for sure. It's hard to believe until you see firsthand what happens to a town catering to just a few companies' growth. It happened fast.

Most people are just living paycheck to paycheck. Homelessness could happen to a lot of people.

now now...much like your example of some truly needful homeless people bein out there...not everyone that doesn't champion the homeless cause is a heartless millionaire that's never known hard times. it's hard to explain away everything that you type...but i do know there are SOME like your examples...BUT those SOME are not the norm and most on here flying the flag for the homeless are not about to invite them into their homes to meet the family. some of the good ones sadly become collateral damage lost through the cracks MOSTLY because of the multitude of liars...cheats and scofflaw drunks and junkies makin a bad name for them all. many people have just grown tired of sifting through the sh!t to find those one or two pearls you speak of. i do however pick n choose which "homeless" person/s i may give something to. however...i rarely agree with the Seattle political tards that want to waste even more tax payer money on many to most that just don't deserve it. even they don't want the hassle of tryin to pick n choose who truly deserves help...so...just give it to em all.

BURIEN, Wash. -- City leaders in the small town of Burien have taken it upon themselves to crack down on the problem of body odor.

They passed a city ordinance that bans body odor in public places. Specifically, the rules prohibit obscene language and poor hygiene. The ordinance also says that people must wear enough clothing.

Offenders can be barred from public places for a year.

The American Civil Liberties Union called the ordinance unconstitutional because it appeared to single out homeless people.




single out homeless people...GOOD. have you been to any public library lately and especially in a very large city? the homeless in these places are not the innocent 4 yr degree down on their "luck" homeless person feverishly scouring the internet for a new career. last year in Federal Way i gave a perverted lookin turd $10 to leave the library for the rest of the evening. he was just sittin and starrin at people lickin his lips and chuckling. the librarian sad she could do nothing until he actually physically did something to somebody. plus...she was afraid if she said anything she'd have trouble with her superiors AND worried that he could wait for her after work when she leaves all alone. do people really want their wives or kids to have to put up with that? do we really have to smell piss...feet n ass...along with stale alcohol infused bad breathe and even listen to them breathin it in and out while tryin to use a facility we pay for? nice restaurants can turn you away if you're not dressed appropriately even if you don't smell...but heaven forbid we try to keep derelicts and perverts from sharing the same seat with our loved ones in a place that's supposed to be relatively safe. there's a multitude of places for them to go for help...BUT NOOOOOO...they want to hang out with the children.

Move to Berkeley and be low income = free weed (look it up). Portland and Seattle soon to copycat the "cool" kid, I'm sure...

Helping the homeless takes less resources than it took to bale out all the major corporations that did not deserve to be saved. It is pennies to help them, not worthy of your contempt.

Seattle is considering the same-since THEY already own the poles and Fibre optic network…..put Comcast out of business
