Quoting: Anonymous Coward 60201580 Because the edges are covered in huge ice packs and planes and ships are prohibited from going there. Duh Many people take trips to Antarctica, how come pilots or passengers don't say they're prohibited from flying further? |

Over the years significant protocols and regulations have been agreed between the parties and enacted into domestic law. For example, under UK law, any British vessel or any person on a British expedition to Antarctica must have a permit and strict penalties exist for proceeding south of 60° without one. If you think that is to protect "the flora and fauna" of the 17million square KMs of Antartica, then you're drinking the kool aid. As GLP doesn't allow posting some links, im not going to go out of my way to circumvent these blocks GLP has, because frankly it's ridiculous. Google it yourself. Anonymous Coward User ID: 69532024 Canada 11/05/2015 12:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The tourist trips to the Antartic are shallow tangents, and are a mask. The reality is the distance to the "edge" is too great for any tourist or even a military trip. Im guessing some thing in the range of 7000 km. Or more. Even if something made it out there they wouldnt be able to come back. And any plane crash in that far out zone will never be seen The true depth of the antartic has never been mapped out. It could even be upto 10000 kms or more to the "wall". The designers of tbis terrarium would have made it as difficult for you to reach the edge as it is for you to go up into "space". The boindaries are clear and fenced in; vaccum in the sky, salt in the sea water, frigid ice stone in rim. Enjoy your trip to the "antartic" . Would you like some popcorn and orange juice? |

Outside User ID: 70051572 Australia 11/05/2015 12:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Most people think flat earth must mean we're on a disk. How about that the real planet is sphere so large that an area surrounded by ice, with the surface area of the "earth", is used to house the "humans", just like a farm. This area would appear to be flat. Outside of the ice is the real planet. We're in a prison, IMO. |

I have never flown over the Antarctic even if it made sense to do so. I also have a very wealthy friend, him and his team invented a cancer screening test using feces that can 'predict' cancer before you get, he's worth millions and millions. He has been to the Antarctic and he said the level of control was extreme. I've seen his pics so I know he's been there. The only evidence that I have seen for flat earth is that whole thing about flight paths. That shit is shady. Might be something there, probably not flat earth though. |

If the Earth is flat and surrounded by anartica, then surely you can each there by flying either east or west. |
