Re: Mad World
Stuff like walking/hiking also can help move the insulin through resistance. It's interesting- I heard a doc saying that insulin itself is anti-inflammatory, and inflammation comes in areas it can't access.
 Quoting: syncro

I'm not sure my problem is with insulin, but is definitely tied to inflammation.

One of the known causes of gallstones, is rapid weight loss. Which is what I did when I dropped 1/3 of my bodyweight in 8 months, back 2011-2012.

I've had problems with it, ever since.

Cholesterol is the problem.

I do need to walk more..but I'm a bit of a shut in.
 Quoting: Seer777

The recent stuff coming out I've seen, and I tend to really believe it, is that largely, all inflammation is related to insulin resistance, I assume unless it is some sort of allergic reaction, or otherwise an autoimmune thing - over my pay grade.

I looked up the symptoms of insulin resistance and I don't have those.

My problem is with food. I have to be very, very careful what I eat and how much. If I eat more than 3 eggs over a week, I'm going to have problems. Sometimes 2 eggs is too much.

1 bite of crab meat, can lay me out for days..and has.

It's cholesterol/fat I have to be very careful with.

I think too much garlic messes with me too. I'm still trying to find the balance but I'm not going through that again. That was new compared to what I usually suffer through.

It started with a golf ball size of pain next to my right shoulder blade..then progressively got worse over a few days until I was wearing a ring of fire.

Sucked big time. Still hurts.

Survive in what sense?

Currently things do look a bit less doomy than they did a couple of weeks ago, but then..who really knows what is going on?

China is on internet blackout which should alarm everyone for obvious reasons.

Tyranny has its iron grip firmly wrapped around the throat of every Chinese person. No way in Hell, America could pull that off that kind of lock down without huge consequences..

I do have to say..if this doesn't collapse the economy and lead to a tsunami of layoffs/foreclosures, I have considered it may be a boon for people like me who make and sell their own product.

Made in America comes back to the forefront. That is..if people will still have money to spend on luxuries like jewelry and such.

I guess the silver has actual weight value but what I charge is in no way comparable to what it weighs, but then still worth more than paper.

hmm

Thanks. I'm going to make an order today.

The back pain is a well known gallbladder symptom. I've just never got it like that before.

When standing it was the center of my solar plexus that cause severe pain. I couldn't stand all the way up for 2 days because of that.

Between the shoulder blades is very common. I'm not sure why it hurt there..but man did it ever.

Then my kidney area was on fire..then my entire abdomen. After few crying spells, which actually made the pain worse creating a horrible loop, I got really angry and a couple hours after that the pain started to recede. Right when I started posting yesterday.

It still kills to burp at all. Which the Sprite doesn't help with but does help in other ways.

I don't know about that food stuff. Crazy. Is it allergy?

But about the insulin resistance, I think in the new paradigm so to say, the symptoms you looked up would be outdated. It reminds me of the conventional view of vitamin D3 when in recent decades it's come out as a huge thing involving immunity, etc.

The view I'm talking about involving insulin resistance is that it is based in most any malady, from heart disease to cataracts, to arthritis, cancer, and so on.

If this happens again I want you to go to the hospital. Because that sounds like symptoms of wanting to rupture. If you have an infection in there that can also be quite deadly. The inflammation can cause an infection and also bile that is left sitting can become infected and is also what causes the inflammation but also just having stones in there creates inflammation as well.

I will get it into my back at times and also depending on how I am sitting if I hunch myself over I can feel my gallbladder in my back and a slight ache but nothing too major like it was for those 4-5 weeks of constant pain. It started with pain that radiated from the gallbladder area and up into my neck and shoulder.

I called up the surgeon office but then it stopped hurting so I called and canceled. I'm not trying to get this dealt with until I absolutely have no choice. It's fine for the most part. All they said was to stay away from butter, cheese, don't eat fats. But obviously I'm going to eat fats and I have butter and cheese just not in large quantity.

The gallbladder has to pump to keep active. Onions and garlic may help with your stomach lining/pancreas but they will for sure irritate your gallbladder. If you are overworking your gallbladder and/or not eating a lot..overeating and under eating are both really bad for gallstones.

They tell people to have 5 small meals a day when you have gallstones to keep the bile moving out of there and so more stones are not created. My problem is I am hypothyroid and that slows the metabolism which slows down bile release. But being on the thyroid meds has helped with that.

I've been taking D supplements along with magnesium, calcium, and zinc, plus a multivitamin and a chewable hair and nail and supplement for months.

After the pandemic scare started, I started eating 1 cutie orange every morning to get real vitamin C, and then realized orange pulp causes huge problems for gallbladder issues. It's weird stuff like that, which catches people off guard.

I have to drink pulp free orange juice for the reason.

It really is like avoiding landmines. And you step on one on occasion. It doesn't alway kill but lays you out for a while.

I stay away from citrus. I won't drink it because of heartburn due to you guessed it..gallstones. Just stick to your multivitamin. Get your iodine and selenium and instead of coffee every morning mix it up and add a green tea to your morning routine, or night, whenever you prefer. It has antiviral properties and so does selenium. You know the onions are a source of vitamin c. You were likely getting enough from eating the onions.

I don't drink much juice at all..but use it for mimosas at the beach. That where I found out that I need 'pulp free'..but yeah..maybe no more oranges.

I did know that about onions, but didn't consider it. Good point.

Green tea is a no can do for me. Every time I've drank it, it made horribly nauseated and even throw up.

I drink black coffee. 2 cups. Sometimes 3 over 3 or 4 hours in the morning. I microwave it a lot because it gets cold..but I enjoy the ritual of drinking it for hours every morning.

Then I would usually move to beer and be in bed by 9pm, but now that is on hiatus.

Rice, apples, a banana here and there is fine for most people, you don't do meat broths so, veggie broths with the rice. Toast (without butter). A very bland diet, and stay far away from spicey food which I know you love. They told me nothing hot no hot sauce. All veggies are fine. If you just have to have a potato add them to broths like a potato soup or something. Potatoes, carrots, celery, rice, broth should be alright for you.

Edit to add: Rice milk is your friend. Get some rice milk, I usually get the vanilla flavored one because it has a mild sweetness to it. Almost like almond milk but this is much better for your gallbladder/digestion issues.

I made this when I was going through those weeks of gallbladder torture.

Mushroom Barley Soup

I won't eat it now though lol I would but I would have the reminder. It makes me sick to think about it.. ~Food PTSD~ but yeah I was eating that and black eyed peas for fiber.

That chili I made the other night was really good. You could try that just don't make it hot (spicey).

That looks really good. I love making soup. Thanks. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with food PTSD. The avoidance and fear are real, and so are the flashbacks.

Two things I can't give up is potato and hot sauce. They don't seem to be a problem as long as I don't go overboard.

I got into the Sriracha again a couple weeks back feeling cocky. Bad idea.

Tabasco isn't too hot.

Well I can't give up coffee no matter how hard I try. I go for a few weeks and get beyond the caffeine withdrawals but before the end of the month I'm back on it.

What messed me up was I was eating pizza with cheese crust and Broccoli cheese soup. Not together but within a day of each other. All it took was a weekend running off with cheese and the suffering lasted 4-5 weeks. So yeah, cholesterol is not our friend.

I won't do that again.

Yep. I learned the hard way too with cream soups. One of the top 'avoid' recommends. And it is like that. Where if you eat two iffy meals in a row, it builds and then causes an attack.

First time it happened to me it was from fried fish. Second time fried fish. Third time..I don't remember and all the other lesser times, up to this last bout..was various things, like eggs, orange juice, and such.

I miss being able to eat fresh crab right out of our Bay very much..but it is not worth the suffering that comes along with it..to even chance it.

I love that movie. Watched it again some weeks back. Classic.

He doesn't seem as fat as I remember him being, compared to what is around today.

You're gonna be okay seer. We're all gonna be okay. Don't stress over the virus. If anything we will see and feel how it is without China production lines. I think it would make American economy great if people were given assembly line jobs, reopen factories and put people to work. Either way people (China, the world, everyone) will get back on their feet, eventually. I have hope.

I hope you're right. It does feel less doomy than it did 2 weeks ago..but then I am not paying as close attention.

I think giving people purpose and a chance to be a part of something they believe in, like America at her heart, that would be an ultimate good come out of this. Job satisfaction is not about a paycheck but feeling good and completed by your work.

We have a lot of raw material so would be fine for a while if supply gets bad. All of our raw materials comes from Canada and New Mexico. Our tools are made here too.
