President Roosevelt lent his full support to Wagner’s efforts and made adequate and affordable housing a priority in his second term. In his State of the Union Message of January 6, 1937, President Roosevelt spoke of the urgent need for the new Congress to address the housing situation:


“There are far-reaching problems still with us for which democracy must find solutions if it is to consider itself successful.

For example, many millions of Americans still live in habitations which not only fail to provide the physical benefits of modern civilization but breed disease and impair the health of future generations.

The menace exists not only in the slum areas of the very large cities, but in many smaller cities as well. It exists on tens of thousands of farms, in varying degrees, in every part of the country.”

What I've noticed over time, that if you choose to believe in anything, you can be manipulated by and through that belief in one way or another.

I don't have to believe in gravity to know things fall.

Hence the absurdity of that meme about not believing in 'physics' only to start floating.

Robert Breck Denny Jr., the writer, actor and Groundlings performer best known as just Breck Denny, died Monday. He was 34.

Family members said Denny, who was amassing a run of impressive credits in TV series such as The Shrink Next Door, Ratched and Curb Your Enthusiasm, died of a rare spontaneous splenic artery rupture in Santa Barbara.



Denny becomes the third comedian to die in 2022, just days after Louie Anderson.

I think people in general really underestimate the total destruction that was the Bronze Age Collapse.

I'm okay. I'm having First World annoyance over the store not having any of flavors of rice I wanted. Nor the Brand.

Like music, if I find something I like and doesn't hurt, I can eat it over and over and not get tired of it. But it is specific to Brand and flavor. My diet is extremely restricted to the point I will go without eating rather than eat something I don't want.
