Re: Mad World
Greetings, Seer.

I disappeared to take care of my health, you know what that entail.

I miss having a conversation with you, K, aether, sol, and maybe few others. I don't know why I keep self-sabotaging myself (i.e. creating and deleting accounts) but now I'm getting better (knows that my mild bipolar and depression are part of me - and my increasingly awareness to handle that) but although, I just got myself a couple of beers to have a happy hour at this moment. And I'm still smoking cigarettes. Same old shit, lol, I know.

Good news; I'm in a process of re-mastering one of my e-comics projects and plan to provide it for free to mature-oriented audience sometime soon or so via a possible website of my own. I already developed my website design and in my opinion and arrogance, I think it is the best 'dark' theme or web design I ever developed. :D K knows I'm OCD with web or theme design in general, lol.

I sincrely hope you (and K, aether, sol, etc) are doing well.

I still have 4 more large cans of beer left to go. I'mma try drink some for yall.
 Quoting: Xlegic 80575918

Hey there. No need to explain. Taking care of yourself is always 1st in line.

I just cracked my second beer after hand watering the lawn. I want one of those lush green beautiful lawns that take a lot of work. It is not a very big space so it shouldn't be too tough to get it like I want it.

Glad to hear about the e-comic. :)

cheers

On an aside note..I recently read a thread I thought you would like. I think you and the OP see things in a similar manner. I nearly mentioned it to that OP, but the post disappeared suddenly and not because I tried to post it. It was just gone.

I took that as a sign not to say anything but now that you are here I feel like that is further proof.

I had to take my total leave of K and aether. I can't be a part of that anymore and they know why. I'll leave it at that.

I miss stuff too..but not enough to get entangled with all that again. Hope that makes sense. hf

Here is the thread:

Thread: Most Roman Catholic Priests Are Gay

In general every religion in history is institutionalized male homosexuality. Religion isn't a benign thing, it's an institution of power and control.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 81290812

I also came to this conclusion about the Catholic Church in antiquity.

Was the original purpose of the Roman Catholic Church, a cover for a gay club?

To brew beer, fleece the rubes, and have gay sex parties at night?

I wonder..

Re: Mad World
I'm currently on halfway 5th page, will read more at later time. Currently on 5th beer.

The last time I posted regarding the philosophy thing was 3 different stances and a transition between these on a science forum a short time ago; subjective reality, intersubjective, and objective reality stance - and transition between these under my partially real name.

I said about intersubjective: "A middle ground between subjective and objective reality stance; Reality and minds; both depend on and are independent of with each other albeit at varying levels of interaction."

You can google it up, but though I prefer to be called Xlegic here.

I see intersubjective as either fundamental interactions in physics and psychology interactions in some way.

Apparently, what I arrived at was already arrived at years ago according to googled search. Seemingly each or group of people are at different rate of progression. But according to a standardization of whose? Who / what? God? I do not know.

But lately, I stopped going to that science forum because of two notions; as impressed upon on me that some of them think they know it all and are bit closed mind. But at same time, I still have a bit of brownness in me from back old days when I was a teenager thinking I know it all similar to them when I am not. Also in a way the site, it somehow reminds me contradictory of the somewhat openness mind of the k site that I also delete and close accounts intermittently from time to time.

As for yards, I'm thinking of doing some physical labours / work with that here at home - but haven't gotten around to that apart from mowing.

^It is wise to understand that those of us who grew up like this..are in our late 30s, early to mid40s now. Most have kids, mortgages, and careers. Our youth was spent in malls, wearing jelly bracelets, and roller skates. Skateboards.

Reminds of an old Chinese adage..

Do not raise your children like your parents raised you. They were born for a different time.

I think that really just sums it up. Over 80 is extremely elderly and has no place making any future they see fit. They were born for a different time.

Simple as that.

Clinical Trial Finds Substantial Antidepressant Effects From Psilocybin-Assisted Therapy

"We found a statistically significant and very large effect," Davis said in a recent podcast.

Among 24 volunteers with major depressive disorder, researchers found psilocybin-assisted therapy was at least twice as effective as psychotherapy on its own, and more than four times as effective as available antidepressant drugs.

The drug also doesn't require taking a pill every single day, nor does it come with nearly as many side effects as antidepressants or ketamine. Apart from occasional mild to moderate headaches and a few emotional moments, volunteers in the study tolerated psilocybin quite well and there were no serious dangers.

The research included two therapy sessions on the drug with 8 hours of prep and 2 hours of follow-up with a therapist. During the sessions, a pill of psilocybin was administered and participants stretched out on a couch in a living room-like space with headphones on for musical stimulation and eyeshades on to spur inward reflection.

You say you do not know why the penis may have been modified to look like a mushroom. It may have been because of the "Amanita Muscaria" mushroom that brought religious epiphanies to the users, some evidence that it may have been helpful as a religion starter.

[link to youtu.be (secure)]
 Quoting: Seer777

It would make sense if say originally it was a ritual with these mushrooms. They knew what they were and what they would do and bought new people in, to experience a mushroom trip.

Maybe after the first(?) time you were marked in that manner as reverence to the revelations and new ways of thinking about things. Or maybe you had to be before showing you were willing to carry the burden of the experience and how it would be painful to move forward after. Knowledge is a burden. Articulating it, even heavier.

The interesting thing is, mycelium network and fungi could be seen as creating/connecting everything and people could in a sense be fungal bodies and our consciousness a mycelium.

Fun to consider.
 Quoting: Seer777

Thread: The Internet is Made of Demons - A review of a Harvard paper (Page 2)

“Throughout the living world, telecommunication is more likely the norm than the exception.”

Mystics understood this; they have always assumed that something like the internet already existed, in their vision of a “system of hidden filaments or threads that bind all things.”

Ancient philosophers, from the Stoics to the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, saw creation as a kind of cosmic textile. “How intertwined in the fabric is the thread and how closely woven the web.” Maybe, Smith suggests, it is not a coincidence that the first fully programmable computer was the Jacquard loom, a machine for entangling threads.

Maya maize god

Like other Mesoamerican people, the traditional Maya recognize in their staple crop, maize, a vital force with which they strongly identify. This is clearly shown by their mythological traditions.

According to the 16th-century Popol Vuh, the Hero Twins have maize plants for alter egos and man himself is created from maize. The discovery and opening of the Maize Mountain – the place where the corn seeds are hidden – is still one of the most popular of Maya tales. In the Classic period (200-900 AD), the maize deity shows aspects of a culture hero.

Americans kill each other all the time over betrayal, both perceived and real.

Being murdered by someone you know, is a very real possibility here. One we all live with.

Murders Spiked in 2020 in Cities Across the United States

The United States experienced its biggest one-year increase on record in homicides in 2020, according to new figures released on Monday by the F.B.I., with some cities hitting record highs.

Although major crimes were down overall, there were an additional 4,901 homicides in 2020 compared with the year before, the largest leap since national records started in 1960. The significant rise has roughly coincided with the 18 months of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The higher murder rate has continued into 2021, although the pace has slowed as the year has progressed.

Overall, the toll of some 21,500 people killed last year is still well below the record set during the violence of the early 1990s.

Homicide is a top cause of maternal death in the United States

Also, becoming pregnant increases the risk of death by homicide: between the ages of 10 and 44 years, women who are pregnant or had their pregnancy end in the past year are killed at a rate 16% higher than are women who are not pregnant.

This really is an excellent meme. Top marks for whomever created it.

One of the most terrifying books written in the last 50 years.

It's a must-read. Should be requiring reading in all American high schools.

Canadian author Margaret Atwood. Written in the 1980s’ as she saw world events unfolding.

I read it as a teen and the feeling it left me with, has never left me.

Seeing women around the world being subjected to such oppressive horror as detailed in the book, showed me just how on point, Atwood was.
