(No...I'm not a fundy --just check the passages and you'll see for yourself.) But to be fair about this...I went to the article that is cited in the intro paragraph...then I went to the sourced article that is supposedly "Scientific American" (who rarely makes ANY comments about religious matters.) The ONLY thing that states that the Pope is "behind the research" is the hearsay comment by the biologist that he asked the Pope, personally, and the Pope said it was "O.K." THAT is not proof of the Pope's true position on this! Then later in the article it has this disclaimer: (from the article link: "...The Pontifical Academy of Sciences, the Vatican’s scientific body, did not respond to an e-mail seeking to confirm Pope Francis’s position.") The article seems to be presenting this thing BOTH WAYS at once. Either the Pope said it was "blessed"--or he didn't say it. Based on the way this article is written I really can't see how anyone could ASSUME that the Pope is "blessing" implantation biology. There isn't any accountability with these kinds of statements, and it just serves to feed a fire-storm of hate toward the Church...It also doesn't make any sense why the Pope would put himself out on a limb like that--It totally goes against traditional Christian beliefs. Is that a recreation of what used to be, or what they want to build on the Mount, or is this the "new Jerusalem" that is talked about in Revelation? Not too many people talk about it but the Bible says the New Jerusalem is not man made and does not contain anything like a temple. The jews and now the Pope want to build a new temple on the mount but that should not be confused with the real New Jerusalem! Now that the vatican realizes that the Pope could sit inside this new man made temple and rule over a new multi-religion they are all for it.
