What do you do in a few days when that little canister is out of fuel? Hopefully you would have already utilized the time you saved wisely. After you are out of gas, just use the ten other things you have to start a fire and do it the old fashioned way. |

[link to www.bioliteenergy.com] Its more expensive than this but it recharges via usb when burned and I like my rechargeable led camplights. Last Edited by H. Uses wood for fuel and with a secondary combustion chamber is VERY efficient. Because you do NOT carry fuel for it, other than some matches, you never run out of fuel!! btw it got "Gear of the Year" award from Backpacker Magazine ---------------------- Solo Stove Lite - Compact Wood Burning Backpacking Stove [link to www.amazon.com] |

Add a small solar battery charger and one can run the thing "forever" (typical AA battery lasts 6 hours of burn time per the product tests in various backpacking magazines though the company claims 8 hours) Of course like the Solo Stove you are collecting wood or pinecones for the fuel ... so you do NOT have to carry fuel (my comment: too bad they can't use the better more efficient natural stove design of the Solo Stove with a fan add on option) [link to www.digitalmarketingusa.com] |

You could have made a topic about a small wood gasifier or a cool alcohol stove instead of this thing. |

Mountain House provides good tasting, long lasting meals for all of your survival needs.' Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71612733 Just kidding I like your videos but that was pretty blatant. I swear to you, I've nearly begged Mountain House for free stuff for years. Nothing. That package in the video is some vintage MH I bought years ago. It would have expired 12-16, still awesome. I can't say enough nice things about them. Expensive, but worth every penny. |

Once the fuel runs out, use the solo. It isn't all or nothing when it comes to gear. |

Again, I'm NOT bashing the other types of stoves out there, just pointing out the differences. Once the propane runs out, I'd be happy to have one. I don't have this model but made my own, and though I haven't done a boil test, it puts out a fair amount of cooking heat for a good 45 min. plus another 45 or so hot coals. I have the poorest metal-working and video-making skills, but here's my last experiment video on wood gasifiers: |

Material to burn You can make a small burner like that out of an old metal paint can too. |
