I know this earthquake is a long way away from the Oroville dam, its a decent size earthquake so I'd thought to post it here anyway.

just here, checking in. anyone remember who posted the good links and images that illustrate the leaking below the gates? seems like a year or so ago we had so many good links and videos and images and I am not sure where to find them all without looking thru the entire thread. save my eyes, anyone? these earthquakes are interesting. foreshocks?!

It looks like they are trying to keep it about 805'.

Keep the water off the failing gates. But retain as much as possible to whore downstream for $$$$$.

In direct contrast to DWR spokesperson Erin Mellon, who stated. "There is no problem with keeping the reservoir at a full elevation of 900'all summer." And immediately afterward, DWR started dumping water as fast as possible through the Hyatt powerplant, without using the main spillway.


If there was no problem with the main spillway or gates, DWR would be hoarding water right now, toward the end of a less than productive rainy season. They'd be trying push to 900' as quickly as possible, because for them, that equals $$$$.

This dam is not 'fine'.

IT CAN GO AT ANY TIME!

Some of the best pictures came from a twitter account named weiry one.....for the weir. He and his postings disappeared suddenly without a trace. There was speculation he was threatened, or an insider who was removed and forced to take down his excellent collection of all the structural damage evidence.

Truth wins out eventually. The only question is if the leaks erode to disaster this year, or take longer.

Erin Mellon. Lol. The best shot of her was the public meeting where the guy stood up with the 124 page investigative report by Bea and Johnson and started to talk about the gates, and she just snapped back "the gates are fine." Reminded me of Nancy Pelosi. Same lying evil spirit.

Nothing really. Our winter in California has been a bust and will end very shortly. The dam survived this year, but who knows what the next winter will bring.

I know this one is a long way away from the Oroville region, I just wondered if it made the water slosh about in the dam?

I'm abut 10 mi. south of the dam and didn't feel anything here.

813.09 and going up. This time it could sneak up on everyone while they are occupied with everything else. I remember dream where something happens at Almanor(Rothschild owned) that causes it Oroville to fail and break apart. Dobrovnich channel you tube actually thinks they would stupid enough to actually open the gates to spill out of it.

Yes, the reservoir elevation is now just over 813', the level of the bottom of the spillway gates.

Leakage from the failing gates is already obvious on the top spillway cam.

Thanks, I had to change the settings on USGS to show quakes with a magnitude of < 2.5

I have been told by the ones above I work with...that Almanor would likely be the failure that took down Oroville.

The spillway is wet.

All of the construction equipment is gone.

They are making the mistake of keeping the gates closed.

From here on out, the problem will just get worse and worse.

They have not done anything to fix the dam.

...and they are not planning to do anything to fix the dam.
