A Surefire Way to Get Out of Jury Duty! | |

Quoting: Dick Tracy I had to sacrifice 10.5 hours of work this week to do jury "duty" (i.e. forced labor). Fortunately, I know of a way to get out of jury duty without lying or I would still be there. FYI, there is NO Constitutional requirement that I serve jury duty, only that I receive a trial by jury if accused of a crime by the state, so please don't respond by saying it's my "civic duty" or the "moral" thing to do. Heck, they don't even want guys like me most of the time because each side simply tries to pick the most manipulatable people they can find and I think for myself. They don't want critical thinkers to serve on juries, and this makes sense if you stop and think about it. The goal isn't to serve justice - it's to win the case..... As Norm Crosby said, "When you go into court you are putting your fate into the hands of twelve people who weren't smart enough to get out of jury duty." Anyhow, here's the secret to getting out of jury duty, but before I tell you how let me warn you that you HAVE to do this in a way that doesn't look like you're trying to get out of serving or the presiding potentate might cite you for contempt and make you pay a fine or worse.... What you do is answer YES on the pre-jury-selection survey to the question asking if you have a belief or attitude that causes you to doubt or dismiss the validity of the judicial system. When the judge asks you to elaborate, simply tell him you believe in JURY NULLIFICATION; however, you don't believe that it applies to this case. The court system, especially here in authoritarian California, is SO AFRAID of this LEGAL remedy that they don't even want the IDEA presented and potentially explained. You WILL be dismissed as I was today. How to Get Out of Jury Duty…and be a hero for it, instead of a “bad citizen”! [link to butnowyouknow.net (secure)] simply tell him you believe in JURY NULLIFICATION Doesn't work, I have tried this 5 times. You are still required to report regardless of your beliefs. It is up to the attorneys to decide whether to keep you as a juror...not up to you. |

You still have to report, but during the selection process, if you tell the prosecutor that you believe in jury nullification, they'll toss you out. Been there, done that. As a matter of fact, while waiting for the jury selection process, a woman sitting next to me asked me how might she get out of this.....I told her, but she was as clueless as you were.... She became a juror, while I drove back to my job site....hhaha.... |

It doesn't sound civically responsible, but they both worked. Both the prosecutors and judges hate the term "jury nullification" universally. They also hate a biased juror, for various reasons. You could say, oh, "he wouldn't have been arrested if he was innocent", which is what I used.....many other excuses... If you actually know the defendant, you can claim you hate the bastard/bitch...that works too. |

The problem is they should pay more money so one doesn't have to miss their job so much. That would spark interest in justice and remove to some extent the interest in keeping their jobs and family fed. They don't do that these days...... Go back to paying in silver dollars or something....People are broke these days. |

Also tell them you know the whole court system is biased towards a profit, not justice, and thus is immoral and forfeit of duty. Then ask them how their stock options are doing and if they have any conflicts of interest. |

Just your one act of jury duty could educate 100's or 1000's. |

I have received two jury duty notices in 44 years of life. The first one I called the number to see when I was supposed to be there. Excused. The second I just ignored because I had a previous commitment. I actually would like to sit on a jury some day. In my current job I get full salary minus my jury compensation. I do have health issues that keep me from going but my Doc didn't want to break hippa laws by telling the court house peeps about it all, so he just said Agoraphobia. Lots of people get a lifetime jury exemption, all those elder folks in assisted living places and other health issues can get you excused for life. I used to care about the jury system and courts until I got older and witnessed first hand many people that I have known in my life get screwed by the courts and crooked lawyers. Screw the system, it's been broke for decades. |

Another method that is very simple, is as follows: Here where we live, the state uses property tax rolls for selection of potential jurors. If you live in an apartment in this state you will NEVER be called for jury duty. If you live in a trailer you own; on a rented space in a park, you will NEVER be called. You must own the land upon which the house or improvements are placed. It does not matter if you have a Warranty Deed or a Deed of Trust; which means you still owe money on the property. Use an LLC to own your real property aka house, home, real property etc. They cannot call an LLC to jury duty as it is a non-person entity which has some rights that exceed those of persons. There is another effective method to be excused. I'll save it for later. Tired of typing.
