My ancestor fought and died a Yankee in the civil war. That is right afro's. My family fought and died to set you free. Should my family be suing your race for reparations and lost income cumulative to the past 6 generations? My family would surely be bigger than it is now. Well the notion of doing that never really entered my mind until recently. All this talk of reparations... It's wrong, I know. I don't really thing black people owe my family money for it. You DO owe my family something however... A debt of gratitude. Honor for the sacrifice my ancestor made for your ancestors... and for you. Soldiers are honored for their sacrifices in every war. So let me ask you afro's... why is there not ONE day in your black history month where you thank all the white people who died fighting to set you free? why have you not bothered to make one statue, a phrase of words on a plaque thanking my unsung hero ancestor? Why do you not recognize that half the white people in his country never owned your ancestors... but fought to set them free? Well, perhaps you have no honor? Perhaps your mind is not capable of rational thought on such a high level? Perhaps your emotional maturity is so diminished that you find yourselves incapable of gratitude? If you are capable of thought you should think about this: You fucking OWE white people something. Pay it or maybe my family will not care about your 'welfare' in the future. I feel certain my family is not the only white one that feels this way. The africans knew they were cursed by God, they sold the Blacks to America so they would try amd destroy America one day. So, damn right they owe us tjey cause more destruction than any race on earth, most are not productive, live off of our dime. Worst things ever was accepting these demons. They cannot bring themselves to humility and beg, so instead, they use violence and aggression to take what they want. They mock and slander White people. |

Living in white countries with IQ driven economies, they become jealous, because they realize that their poverty is caused by their own shortcomings. This causes them to hate the white man. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 14102964 United States 02/21/2017 02:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Civil War was not fought to free slaves. That's public school mis-education for you. That's what 5th grade teachers tell their students usually in order to avoid explaining the more complex issues of states rights versus federalism and the economic war between an industrial North and an agricultural South. If you read Lincoln's own writing on the subject he wanted nothing to do with elevating blacks to the same status as whites. If he hadn't been assassinated, he would have gladly dropped every black person off in Liberia without so much as a penny or even a "thank you" for hundreds of years of free, slave labor. So while it's nice you know your ancestors history, that's not why the North waged war on the South. How about this more rational conclusion: present day blacks owe nothing to whites and whites owe nothing to blacks. America as a government, however, owes an un-payable debt of gratitude to the slaves and their place in history. The early success and economic foundation of this country would not have happened without their sacrifice. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 73237334 Panama 02/21/2017 02:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Irish side of my family migrated to the USA after the Civil War was over, and the German side of my family moved there just prior to WWII. So no one in my family owned slaves. (Even though that should be irrelevant, because no one should have to pay for the sins of their long-dead forefathers perpetrated against long-dead victims. It would set a horrible precedent. Imagine being able to be sued for something your great, great grandfather did. Or being forced to pay an old debt taken out by your great grandparents before they died, which I think is the end goal.) Even back when there was slavery, only a tiny percentage of Americans owned slaves, and some of those slave owners were black. Chattel slavery was introduced to America in 17th-century Jamestown by an African named Anthony Johnson. Prior to Johnson winning his court case making a fellow African his slave for life, there was nothing but indentured servitude. At the Jamestown Museum in Virginia, they used to have an Anthony Johnson exhibit explaining all of this. I wonder if it's still there. |
