If the Water Supply to the Valley below is on the upside of the Dam, could not all the people downstream from the dam, store water to drink, and then open up all their water faucets at once and leave them open and drain water continuously into the sewers that go to the sewage treatment plants?

The Sewage Treatment plants could just dump everything straight through until the crisis is over.

I did relief work in N.O. after Katrina. The Army Corp of Engineers BLEW the levees. From talking to survivors the hurricane 'tho HAARPED was not that bad my son (who I dragged down there with me) and I were told. it was AFTER that all hell broke loose. I have NO DOUBT there are also MAJOR shenanigans going on in CA,especially with the $$ RAPE of the state by BROWNNOSE and others. My son and I met long haul truckers who LOADED their trailers with food, medicine, water,etc. headed to N.O. and were STOPPED at the freeway BY GUN POINT by the National Guard,NOT allowed to make any Emergency deliveries and turned BACK,NOT JUST ONE TRUCKER EITHER. We worked with 2 organization,one called Common Ground and in the gym of the elementary school where people had taken shelter- which was set up at the HIGHEST ELEVATION in the lower ninth ward-ALL OF N.O. is BELOW SEA LEVEL so I am being sarcastic there were charcoal drawings of survivors and their stories. Many people were SHOT AT by the N.G.from helicopters and they were NOT looters,reporters trying to get the TRUTH out were roughed up and rifle butted and threatened,there were I heard 25,000 body bags sent and a photo/journalist who tried to film them was again threatened and had his camera taken or smashed I don't know. The OFFICIAL death count was what 2500? They left off a 0.What the survivors went thru AFTER the fact as you point out was hideous. Old people in nursing homes were JUST LEFT to die from drowning. The rapes in the Sports Dome were horrendous,the knife attacks we heard about,guns being shot and yes being TRAPPED in there. ALL PART of the PILOT RUN I told my son for the NWO.

I think you have VERY VALID reason to have concern for what is happening out West AFTER this event subsides a bit if N.O. was ANY indication.I believe SOME people were just disappeared en mass who were picked up in the buses.No proof,just a feeling.

I lived in New Orleans from 1966 thru 2014. The Canals specifically the Mr Go (Mississippi River Outlet) that the ships all used as a shortcut to the wharves of New Orleans were built to withstand a certain depth of water.

For 30 years the greedy Politicans lined their pocket with money from Greedy Mariners that talked them into digging the canals far deeper than the pilings and concrete were built for.

Yes it was a man made disaster, but the levees burst from the pressure from the Cat 5 hurricane that churned at the mouth of the river for a very long time. As we know, water is one of the most destructive forces in the world.

Do you know that the reason that the Dome and Convention center were full of people was because there was a rumor circled in the black community that they would be put on the cruise lines and shipped away from the storm. The storm MISSED NEW ORLEANS, the sun was up and it was about 9am when the levee was breeched by the pressure of the water. I lived there I know. For 30 years the Corps of Engineers and Professors from Tulane Begged the city leaders to fortify the levees or to stop deepening them beyond a safe level.

Go fly a kite. Facts are facts.

The failures happened AFTER the storm, so there were no storm noises when New Orleans was being damaged.

But on the MS Gulf Coast the damage was from the storm itself. Widespread wind damage and buildings just washed away. And yes, people could hear trees snapping and houses coming apart even during the hurricane.

Be glad you have not experienced it.

I lived in Kenner and evacuated for nearly a month because of Katrina. There is no need to invent any nefarious reason for what happened in Katrina past human incompetence and greed for not adequately maintaining levees in a city surrounded on all sides by water.

One simple fact. People with money and resources evacuated before or directly after the storm. Poor people without money for a car, gas, motel, etc, stayed behind because there was no other choice but to stay. And there were plenty of poor people and a city full of tweeking drug addicts with guns, and every kind of asshole criminal taking advantage of the situation to rape, rob and kill.

I have no doubt the authorities lied about the number of people they killed in Katrina. But if one revisits the rapes and crimes at the Super Dome, its not difficult to extrapolate what authorities were dealing with for an entire city. I was told after the Super Dome rapes, the Army sent in swat teams to arrested the gangs members in the Super Dome crowd and executed everyone of them, body bagged them and that was that.
