Why do some threads disappear so quickly?

Some threads have information that the PTB don't want to get out into the public forum. These threads are the ones that disappear fast.

As soon as someone writes something thoughtful interesting and close to being truthful. Thats it for that thread

But I've also seen threads that seemingly don't say much also disappear really fast.

Those are the ones I can't figure out why.

Simple really - whatever the owners do not feel will fit their daily/weekly/monthly direction for the site, generally speaking of course.

I always wonder too. I would rather deal with the truth than what the disappearance does to my imagination.But there are greater minds at work here than mine,and what is done has reasons they are aware of that I am not. I wish a lot I have typed would vanish.
