I think the question needs to be asked here then, if it was always some blue flower, how and why did the red headband become associated with it, any other popular characters at the time that had such that might've mixed, etc.?

For those who saw it as black though, perhaps that could be explained by variance in TV color settings... I'm not sure such a thing could account for it being red, however... anyone have a cathode ray tube that lets you monkey with the tint etc. and a VCR & VHS of the movie to experiment with?
