Enormous amounts of new snow and avalanches have cut off Bonneval-sur-Arc, SE France (>1700 m) from the rest of the world, with up to 7 m thick snow deposits blocking the road. The village is also without electricity.

Lol. Just shows how the weather can be so diverse between Beltway and Annapolis. We are done now with the rain. Still overcast & fog tho down by the water.

Drizzled for maybe 30 minutes earlier here. It's almost irresponsible to call for 2+ inches of rain - to have close to none! Maybe we'll get some here later, but i wont hold my breath.

Predicting a hurricanes path has always been a blind squirrels game. BUT, i will say the forecast cones for the major hurricanes were accurate enough, i'll give em that!

Interstate 95 here always seems to be the deciding factor, or dividing line of who gets the storms and not.

Rain all day since the wee hours of the morning here. Changed over to freezing rain a couple of hours ago. No sign of snow yet. Holding at 30 degrees for now.

And just 3 days ago a forecast called for 20+ inches of snow for ya. You've been dealing with crappy cold weather for a couple weeks. How bad do you wanna run your foot through warm beach sand about now?

Blowing snow here for the last five hours. I would guess about 3-4 inches of total snow so far and its still coming down but not as heavily.

Intermittent power outages but only for a few minutes, then power coming back on.

Hope the power holds strong Haun! Seems the worst is past ya.

We just hit the 70 degree mark here! Radar shows well get some heavy rain for an hour or 2 then back to 13 degrees tomorrow night (predicted)

yeah,what sucks is weather underground forecast says a inch and the alert page is updated to 6" here. on the state line of NY-Pa mid-way across.local weather guy said temp was to drop all day and the high would have been midnight about 55 degrees f.it hit mid 60's,been a drizzly dreary day.looks like the worst of the rain is waiting for the temp to drop. the weather ppl themself are confused.

the severe weather map is a mess. flood warnings and winter storm warnings mixed.i see to my west there are several counties where it must be flooding since they are green not white.ERIE,you probably will hit that record.u and buffalo should be over a foot since the sorm has slowed down.

95 seems to be the factor for coastal storms, and the mountains for storm fronts from the west.

I used to laugh when local Bmore forecasters used the term 'we dodged the bullet' after they predicted and hyped a major storm that never came to be. It's like their 'get out of blame free" card lol....

Montana has the best show pack in the west, and the last few days have added to it! Cold here, but the powder skiing is awesome right now!

News here is reporting several slide offs on I74W. A tractor trailer jack knifed along there as well. Highway was also shut down for several hours near Shelbyville due to multiple accidents along an icy stretch. All afternoon, I could hear the icy shit pelting the ground and trees..ugh

Haha! One of our kittens was sleeping on a couple of hangars I had sweaters folded on! They find the darndest places!

Yep, you're getting all my weather, just a few days later. Same with Jazzy and Haun, who get it a day before you. It's really cold here again. Ice storm ended up not being too bad overall, which is actually what they predicted. The bad swath was just south of us. Not gonna complain, no one wants ice. Wouldn't mind a decent snowstorm though.

Funny you say that - as I stuck my head outside periodically last night, I found myself lingering because the sound was so soothing.
