Sometimes hanging will allow it to realign itself. Find a pipe or doorframe or something that you can hang from. I also have an inversion table that helps (sometimes) Thanks, I'll try the hanging thing. So, once it goes out, I can expect it to happen more? Sucks. Pretty much has me grounded. I'll try any fix now The real question is, do you even doodle Bro? |

Didn't even touch it before this happened. I don't recall doing anything unusual while bending at all. *sigh* The real question is, do you even doodle Bro? |

It sounds like a ruptured lumbar disc. I've had two of them. Best advice is to find and correct the root cause, which is usually bad posture, hypokinetic dysfunction, poor lifting habits, spinal misalignment, or a combination of them. I second the recommendation to see a chiropractor. That's who's best suited to help identify and recommend how to correct the root cause. If you spend a lot of time sitting, you absolutely should invest in something like this (using them has helped train me to have better posture when sitting, so in the long run the mechanical support provided by them is no longer necessary) [link to www.amazon.com (secure)] Arthritis to likely to set in about 20 years from now, so in a couple of decades Pau D'Arco will be your best arboreal friend. |

I actually bought one for my desk about 3 months ago. I'll call the chiropractor in the morning if this doesn't let up. It sucks. I'm not young so, this could just be my body falling apart. Anonymous Coward User ID: 32360466 United States 01/28/2018 08:32 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Take a tablespoon of turmeric powder and mix it with two tablespoons each of equal parts honey and coconut oil. Rub it in where it hurts, put a paper towel over it and use a stretch bandage to keep it in place. The turmeric is oil soluble and will absorb through your skin and help bring down any swelling which will help reduce the pain you're feeling. It's something I use to help with the RA in my knees. It's a godsend. If you are not allergic to black pepper, you can add a teaspoon to the mix, it makes the anti-inflammatory effects even stronger. Good luck. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 74841941 United States 01/28/2018 08:53 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Don't just lie in bed or sit in a chair... You need to get up and move around. Be very careful, but once or twice an hour get up and walk a little bit, even if it's just to the kitchen and back. Find a good position to sleep in, otherwise you will be even worse in the morning. Sometimes a couch is better than a bed, find what works for you. Also, get some capcaisin muscle rub and put it on your lower back. It will burn like hell but it helps. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 74841941 United States 01/28/2018 09:04 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yeah I have battled with it my whole life. At least you were inside when it happened... One time I was at work cleaning up a huge pile of broken glass on the roof of a building. My back went out and I was stuck rolling around in the pile of glass for like half an hour before I could finally get up... Then I had to get off the roof!!! I damn near fell off the ladder. I wouldn't wish that shit on my worst enemy. |

Lay down on the floor I tell you... To later get back up you need to gently roll onto your side and then to all fours next to some furniture where you call pull yourself back up. Now I am talking about pulled lower back muscles and I am assuming that is your problem. I've had it bad over the years and this has always helped me. There are some stretching motions that go along with this but that is only after resting for 10 minutes flat as a board. |

Even sex will hurt me if I'm not prepared or limber . A tens unit on the muscles around the disks will increase heal time by 100 . I also bought a real dead lift weight belt for more support at work or around the house . It's a nightmare . Lots of fluids and rest . Alcohol is not the answer but food grade diotamacious earth will be like a Viagra and get the blood flow to those nerve endings . Mix with juice or coffee/ tea . It's also a good natural Viagra . |

The exercise he says helped him most, where he lays on his back with arms out so he looks like a T and then bends his knee and rolls, that’s the one that really helps a lot I’ve had terrible lower back issues for almost 30 years, these stretches really help. .
