Thee Governor could send in State assets of the Guard, but they could only work under police direction. Having live ammunition for them would be a BIG question. It might be possible for the Federal Government (DoD) to make the payroll for such a mission, but it would still be under local civilian control.

For the Feds to send in the Guard, the area would have to be put under martial law. This takes, literally, an act of Congress. The situation would need to be much worse than it is now for that to have a chance of passing.


My answer to the poll, under the current situation, is no.

This is not about politics or race any longer, this is about community and the surrounding communities identifying a problem and looking for solutions on all levels. People are dying, most are innocent victims.

We can not choose what happens, but we can pray for them and hear their pleas. And until the "men of bold" stand up for what is right and are not seeking monies or reward, this is in the hands of some type of government. That is just the way it is.

I personally will not be helping Chicago, but will be praying something happens very soon. JMHO
