Then there's the suicide of one of the complainants in the current case.

Then there's Pell's lawyers' repeated insistence that he was too ill to travel (heart problems; he's 77) from Rome, even though he subsequently made the flight without apparent harm.

Then there's the court's leniency in allowing Pell to have knee surgery (a previously un-mentioned condition)
